The Patagonia Men's Capilene Midweight Crew is a long sleeve base layer for spending time in the cool, cold outdoors. Hiking, climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, whatever it is that brought you to the backcountry, the Polartec® Power Grid™ fabric will keep you warm and active. Next to the skin it's soft and wicks moisture fast, as well as insulating against the cold temps. The thumbloops are elastic, easily pushed away if you're just not that kind of guy, and keep sleeves in place when pulling on additional layers. No bunching! Flat seams won't rub the wrong way under a pack or harness and Polygiene® permanent odor control helps maintain a non-smelly aura about you.

FEATURES of the Patagonia Men's Capilene Midweight Crew

  • Rib-knit crew at collar with internal neck tape for comfort; locker loop for hang-drying
  • Offset shoulder seams eliminate chafing under pack straps
  • Full underarm gusset for range of motion and chafe-free comfort

Polartec Power Grid

Polartec Power Grid
Polartec Power Grid is a fleece fabric with a grid pattern. The grid design allows the fabric to wick moisture away from the skin, dry quickly, and increase breathability. It also allows the apparel piece to be lightweight and compress down for packing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! Purchased this for my son. The description was accurate and the sizing was also. He loves it (and he's really finicky about his clothes). Great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable layer I really enjoy this long sleeve from Patagonia. The shirt is very well made and is a great layer for the colder weather. This is my first Patagonia shirt and I have to say that I am impressed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent base layer I've had this shirt for a while, but just recently, when the temps began to fall started to use it when I run with my dog. I've worn it with just a shell and it keeps me warm in the 40s while wicking away my sweat. It's really nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Layer I bought this to wear under t-shirts this winter. For the price, it was a good buy. Fits very good, but just a little itchy. Hopefully it will soften with time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Baselayer This makes a great baselayer. I'm 5'09", 160 pounds with an athletic build and the large fits fine. I don't like a snug baselayer. I've worn this from 13 degrees F to 40 degrees F. Warmth without the bulk. Moosejaw had this color on sale. Fast shipping.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Changed fitting of Patagonia Usual wear a small size for Patagonia. Compare to my another mid weight zip neck the crew is significantly smaller (about 1/2 to 1 full size smaller). Frabic-wise it is good, just the fitting. Have to returned it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A step in the wrong direction. For the past few years I have worn the Patagonia Cap 2 crews to work everyday from September through April. When Patagonia changed their base layers, I excitedly expected a new and improved product. Unlike it's predecessor, this shirt lacks the elasticity and breathability that I have become so fond of. The silk weight is even worse. It seems as though Patagonia has cheapened their materials to increase profits. The new base layers are a step in the wrong direction. The fit is boxier than the Cap 2, with way less taper at the waist. Fortunately, the changes were obvious and I was able to buy the rest of the stock of Cap 2 from Moosejaw and Patagonia in my size. As far as performance goes, It does the job, but with less free range of motion than the older version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for price Warm when it's cold. Keeps u cool when it is hot. Light weight material. All in a mid weight base layer. I like it over the merino wool.
