The Patagonia Houdini Pant is an ultralight pant for wind resistance. When it's time to run you can't always stop and wait for the weather. In steps the magician, weighing around just 3 ounces, while still capable of blocking wind and deterring light moisture. Snaps at the cuff make for easy on/off, so once the sun peeks through the clouds you can shed the pant, tuck 'em into the zippered rear pocket and clip 'em to your pack for later. Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Awesome ultra light Wright wind pant I bought the Patagonia Houdini wind pants for a section hike over the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The temps were 30-40 degrees with wind gust over 40 mph at 6,200’. The Houdini wind pants exceeded my expectation by shedding the cold wind and keeping my lower half very comfortable. I found them very flexible while climbing over house size boulders and perfect for shedding mist and light rain. At only 3.4 oz. they will always have a place in my backpack. Awesome product by Patogonia.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weird Sizing I love the pants. They work great in the wind and rain. The sizing, being unisex, is really strange though. I'm a female (5'4", 115lbs). Originally I bought the xxs, but they were tiny. I exchanged them for and xs which fit pretty well but are long on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the classic pieces of gear These pants easily shed moderate wind, rain and snow (when the fabric in retreated often). I wanted to know how they would do in heavy rain. I had reason to be in 4 hours plus of steady, strong rain and there was a slight amount of moisture in the pants. I am not clear if it was rain or sweat. Since I was walking, I consider it likely that it was a slight amount of sweat. That said, the pants are about as breathable as you can get in a water resistant fabric. Other than in heavy rain, I’ve noticed no moisture in them when hiking. They are unbelievably light and easy to pack or just carry on a belt. They are really the perfect insurance against a possible rain storm, wind or snow. I would say they are too fragile to comfortably crash through trees off trail though. These pants have to be one of the absolute classics of running, hiking or walking gear. Note: Buy them large if you want the cuffs to sit on your shoes and keep water from running right down your legs and into your socks.
