The Patagonia Black Hole 120L Duffel is a duffel bag for swallowing all your gear and traveling around with it. Seriously, 120 liters is pretty big, so if you've got tons of stuff, or just have to bring those extra 3 pairs of shoes, this is the one to do it with. The rugged exterior is made of polyester ripstop with a highly weatherproof TPU laminate and durable water repellent finish. What does that mean for you? It means toss it in the back of your truck, strap it to the top of a bus, or even lash it to a pack mule. It can handle it. The large main compartment opens wide so you can find all your things, plus there are small zippered pockets at the side and lid for tiny items. Carry like a backpack for long walks at the airport or use the grab handles for short movements from door to car.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Travel Duffel Ever I love the 120 liter Patagonia Black Hole Duffel. I have used North Face duffels for many years, and they are great, but they are so much heavier. The Black Hole provides protection equal to the North Face Duffel, but is much lighter and more pleasant to carry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of storage Bought it for car camping gear, this thing takes the place of 2 plastic totes and still fits easily in the trunk of my corolla. Its also built well so no worries of it failing me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag Very spacious and well-designed bag for squeezing lots of gear into airline space and weight limits. The bag appears to be very durable and has yet to show any signs of wear from airline handling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome, durable duffle I’ve been using this duffel for the past month for a road trip, relocation, and storage and it’s fit the bill and then some! Excellent, tough material with superb workmanship. I haven’t tested it in set conditions but this duffel has done everything I’ve asked of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough as nails and big as a canyon I actually bought this several months ago and have since had the opportunity to use it in several butt kicking episodes. I took it to Aconcagua where it rode on the back of the mules up and down the mountain and got absolutely trashed and it held up without a tear anywhere or even the slightest zipper malfunction. It has also been on a military exercise where it got tossed around and piled on, again, it performed flawlessly. It has also been on a couple more "normal" trips in an airplane cargo hold and have not had any issues. I love the external features (carry handles, backpack straps, external pocket). Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spacious and very well made great quality, rugged yet folds up small for size, quality zippers. I use it for multiple purposes. I live overseas so I pack it in a suit case on trips to US and then load it up with goods for return trip. I also use it for trips overland and sea as some locations we travel can be remote. Glad I purchased. One area of improvement...include instructions on how to install th backpack straps. Took awhile to figure out. Wife and friend thought we were missing parts at first.

Is it a good bag of my 950 V Star touring bike. Heading south in May. I need something that keeps my clothes dry. Plus my survival gear. Probably a weeks worth of stuff. I can always wash clothes.

Asked by: Rog L
Hiya Rog L, thanks for your question! The Black Hole Duffel is an excellent option for hauling clothes and gear and keeping it dry... but at 32 x 13 x 16 inches, the 120 liter bag is HUGE. You would probably need something much smaller, if not half of that size, for a weeks worth of clothes and gear, but it depends on the gear. Hope this helps!
