The Patagonia Baby Reversible Puff-Ball Bunting is a snowsuit for keeping that lil' baby warm. One-piece makes life easier, so you're not having to try wrangling a wiggling kid into a jacket AND pants. The long zipper features an angle that makes tucking their chubby little arms and legs in and getting them out much easier. The shell is wind-resistant and treated with a durable water repellent finish, allowing light moisture and even drool to bead up on the fabric surface instead of soaking in. The 100g Thermogreen® is the real hero here though, keeping your kiddo warm in cold weather.

FEATURES of the Patagonia Baby Reversible Puff-Ball Bunting

  • Lightweight, wind-resistant shell fabric is treated with a DWR finish
  • Spandex binding at hood, sleeve and leg opening for a secure fit
  • Fold-over hand and foot cover keeps cold out
  • Angled long zipper has wind flap and a zipper garage for diaper changes
  • Split leg construction generous length easily accommodates your baby in a carrier or car seat
  • Gusseted crotch diminishes ride-up, accommodates diapers and base layers
  • Reverses to contrasted quilt-lined side
  • 100 g Thermogreen (90% recycled) insulation stays warm and dry even when wet

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable! I bought this for my youngest granddaughter, Winny Mae, so we could get out in the woods together during our long winters up here in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! It’s roomy and very well made. I can’t say enough about how happy I am about this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for active families. These run really big. We have three consecutive sizes and will double them up for extra warmth. They are quite durable. Our kids all bagged their first peaks wearing these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waay too Big! This item is very cute, warm and functional, but the sizing is way off. I ordered 6-12 month size for my son who is a tall 7month old. He was swimming in it. I cant see this fitting him until he's at least a year old. definitely order a size down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems like a nice piece of gear, but runs large. We bought this in mid October in the 6 to 12 month size for our 5.5 month old. Plan was to use for a couple nights of primitive camping in Canyonlands during running the White Rim Road (expecting temperatures down to around 30 degrees). We knew it would be on the large size, but unfortunately it was HUGE (and we generally find Patagonia to run smaller than some outdoor baby clothes). Ended up having to return it and went with another item since we anticipated he would be growing out of the 3 to 6 month size too quickly to justify the price. It was very nicely made and we would have loved to keep it, but definitely keep in mind this is on the larger size of Patagonia's sizing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect baby bunting I love that it is not too thick and bulky, but still seems to keep my baby warm. I think it could be a three season coat/bunting since it's so light!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great snowsuit for infants Recently bought this for our 3 month old and it's been great so far. The fit is ideal a little oversized so there is room for bulky clothes underneath and growth. It's also stood up to everyday wear well unlike some baby clothes definitely a good purchase.

Does this bunting have fold over hand and foot cuffs? The description says it does, but they are not visible in any of the pictures. Thank you

Asked by: mom question
Hiya, thanks for your question! The hand and foot covers fold over from the back to the front of the cuff, which is why it isn't visible from the picture. Sorry for the confusion!

I live in a temperate rain forest in SE Alaska. The avg temp for spring/summer is 50 degrees. I am looking for a bunting to use as a sleeping bag during tent camping in the Alpine for my infant, 12 months in July. Would this bunting work? Size?

Asked by: Katherine
Hiya Katherine, thanks for your question! Of course it would depend on weather conditions and whatever else your baby is wearing, but overall this bunting should work for that temperature. If your baby is an average size for his or her age, go with the 6-12 Month size, as the sizing is generous. If your baby is larger and/or you plan on layering clothing, maybe go with the 12-18 Month, which would also provide grow room. Hope this helps!

How warm is this bunting? I need something for my 12 month old for Chicago winters (going from house to car, in a stroller or carrier on longer walks, but not for snow play).

Asked by: nina
Hiya Nina, thanks for your question! This bunting is going to be pretty warm, however, it is better for active snow play. It has 100 grams of insulation. (Generally, warm winter clothes vary between 50 - 150 grams of insulation.) For walks or situations where the baby isn't moving a whole lot, I would recommend the Patagonia Baby Hi-Loft Down Sweater Bunting instead. It has 118 grams of DOWN, which will be warmer. Neither bunting is waterproof but they are coated with a water repellent, which is good for snow and light showers but not down pours. Hope this helps!

My daughter is 12 months old. Wears 18 month clothes 31 inches tall and weighs 22 pounds. Would I be smart to get 18 month or 24 month?

Asked by: Kate
Hiya Kate, thanks for your question! Since our Patagonia Baby and Toddler size options refer to the upper end of a size range, I would recommend the 24 month size. Hope this helps!
