Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great puffy for 25F+ I bought this jacket because I work at a ski area in the PNW, and I wanted to be warm without worrying about damaging my down jacket by walking through whatever snow/sleet the weather gods sent that day. I'm stoked with the water resistance (and the fit), but noticed that under maybe 25F, this puffy was not warm enough to keep me comfortable walking to my car. I was hoping that its functional temp range would extend down farther than that. However, if I consider it to be a 25F+ puffy, it's great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket Ever! I feel bad for all of my other jackets. They really aren't getting worn anymore. This jacket is truly amazing! 800 fill down and comfy on the inside, with a burlier, waterproof outer layer. Nice big hood for keeping snuggly with a brim for wetter weather. No, it's not that packable and on really windy days (or days you are skiing REALLY FAST!) you can feel some cool through the front zipper, but I don't have any zipper sticking issues one of the other reviews had. It's a do-it-most layer I can wear solo most days, and cover with a shell on the wettest ones. The cut is amazing, cut to the hip and narrow through the waist. Pull the trigger, I'm so glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket Ever!!! I've had the Floodlight for about 4 months now. Hands down the warmest and most comfortable winter jacket I have ever owned. I grew up in upstate NY where winters are brutal. This jacket has out performed all the "sleeping bag" style jackets we used since the 1960's. The Floodlight is super warm, yet light and packable. Highly recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Warm and Dry and Worst Zipper I really like the jacket minus the zipper. It is warm and dry and perfect for PNW winter drizzle. However, the zipper is extremely frustrating. I do not struggle with other two sided zippers, but I struggle with this zipper every time I take the jacket off or put it on. I would expect OR to have their zippers dialed at this point. Also, the jacket is not very packable. It is good for walking around the city.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from in LOVE! The bright red is absolutely stunning and I get compliments on its color and fit every single time I wear it. I bought a medium and can fit several layers underneath it but it's also just as warm when i wear it flush against my skin when it's freezing out. It's fairly puffy but I figured it would be with the high quality goose fill in it. The hood is soft lined and big enough to wear a beanie or ponytail under it. The pockets are great although I wish there was a zipper pocket in the inside. The jacket has waterproofing seaming so it helps cut down on the amount of feathers that come out. My only complaint is the transparent material of the jacket because you can see the dark feathers inside and people always think something is on my jacket like a stain or dirt but it's just the feathers. It's kind of weird once you start to notice it but the jacket is so cute and colorful that I don't mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Rec Jacket! The is my new favorite. Its SUPER light weight, keeps me dry in the rain, and has been perfect for snowboarding and snow-shoeing. I can't say enough about how comfortable it is. They really did a great job on the design!! I bought the red one. It makes me happy with my jeans every day in the rain too :) I'm usually a small to medium fit, and the small fits with plenty of room in this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely waterproof and warm I have used this jacket in all PNW seasons for a year now (based on the description, mine might be less warm than this year's, since they added more down). I bring it along with me even during summer because restaurants and stores crank up the A/C during these months, and I run very cold. I wore this in a downpour along the Oregon coast and stayed warm and dry. The jacket never lost its loft, and the velcroe wrist straps really help keep the water from traveling up your arm (I HATE THAT!). I also wear it around town during the shoulder seasons over my normal day-to-day clothes, and during winter with midweight baselayers and my normal clothes. I usually don't need much more than that. I do ultralight backpacking, so unfortunately this jacket does not go with me on my summer and shoulder season trips; it's too heavy. It's fantastic for camping though! Just don't sit too close to the fire, because I've heard the smoke can destroy the waterproofness of material. Not sure if that actually applies to this jacket, but I'm always careful. I also wear it on my winter snowshoe backpacking trips as my shell when the temps are below 20(o)F. To avoid sweating (and thus freezing) the down from the inside, I wear my heavyweight base layers and a thin vapor barrier liner jacket underneath this jacket. I don't usually sweat much below 20(o)F though, so it's not a big deal. Anything warmer and I would not advise using this for high exertion activities. Maybe if it had a pit zip? The inside pockets are super roomy, and the breast pocket is perfect for my iPhone 6s and wallet (I imagine it would fit a plus phone just fine, as it is also roomy). The hand pockets are high up, which is nice if you're wearing a backpack or harness, and they are super soft and warm. The brim on the hood is useful when it's raining. The only thing I would be cautious with when wearing this jacket in the rain is to not get any water on the inside, as I do not think that this material is waterproof. I'm pretty sure the down will lose its loft (and warmth) if water is introduced from the inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat ever & in cute colors too! I have been using this jacket for over a year. I climb, ski, snowboard, hike and spend a lot of time outside with my dog. This is my favorite jacket. I especially like it for skiing and riding as it's WARM and light! I've worn it in all conditions and not gotten wet. Washington state mountains aren't exactly dry... It has a generous fit and I can layer without feeling constricted. Also - OR makes this in really cute girl colors and that is admittedly what first drew me to this jacket. I have a lot of OR gear, which never disappoints, but this one is my go-to.
