Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect pants for Mt Shasta Wore these pants up Mt Shasta, with a base layer pant underneath. I wouldn't have wanted to be in any other pant for that climb! Kept me dry and comfortable for the entire trip. One of my guides also had them. Awesome pants! For reference I am 5'5", 125 lbs, and wear a small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great climbing pants! I bought these for a trip to Rainier and was so comfortable the whole time. Highly recommended for snow climbing- with or without a thermal layer. The ankle zips made it easy to cover the tops of my boots and the adjustable waist kept the pants in place very nicely!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second time buying these pants! Second pair of Cirque Pants! love these for cold backcountry ski days and even on wet days they seem to keep me dry enough. The fit is great. I love the thigh pocket for my phone and the side pockets for beacon or sunscreen. The bottom of the pants expand enough to fit over my two different style AT ski boots. Love the sturdy material, especially the added cordura (?) on the inside of my ankles. My only request would be to have thigh vents. These pants breathe well, but they can get hot and OR lacks a warmer softshell ski pants with thigh vents. (The trailbreakers are too cold from the knee down). Maybe another color would be nice too,, like a milk chocolate brown!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good pants Pants are quite big on the legs and bum. They fit fine around the waist. However, the material and feel of the pants is very nice and I like wearing them during the winter with another layer underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock Solid Pants (Pun Intended) I have been mountaineering for years and have struggled to find a great pair of pants until now! Several of my guy friends own these pants and adore them, so I decided to give them a shot. They kept me warm on a cold, winter ascent while also being breathable. The pants themselves are comfortable and have an adjustable waist, so I didn't need a belt (huge plus for me). I'm 5'9" with an athletic build and the medium fit great with a little bit of room. My only complaint is that they are quite baggy at the leg, almost like a ski pant. My guy friends' version of the pant look more slim fit than the women's version. Overall, I highly recommend these for any mountain enthusiast!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Long I was really disappointed in this item as it was about 4" too long for my 5'3" frame. Otherwise, if you have long legs it is a great product. I'm 125lbs and got the size small which fit perfectly except for the length. I was planning on using it to ride my fat bike in the winter and for hiking that involves bushwacking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted Wanted pants for cross country skiing and these are perfect. My snowboarding pants were too bulky. And these are stretchy and there’s plenty of room for tights underneath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cold-weather pants for hiking and climbing. I had been eying this pants for a while and finally bought them for mountaineering. They are fairly heavyweight, stand up well to abrasion and will protect you from rock and ice. I usually wear a size 8 and bought a large to accomodate a base layer and/or midlayer for cold days. I love that they are flexible and don't impede my movement. The zipper at the ankle is nice in theory but this is not a pant I will be putting on over my boots. The pants are very long. I am 5'10", all legs, and they reach the ground when I'm not wearing shoes. The bottoms are a little wider than I'd like. You can clip them to your boots to act as gaiters, but it becomes extra fabric that gets in the way when wearing actual gaiters. They are water resistant but not waterproof, so wear a true waterproof layer if you'll be in rain or heavy snow. Unlike others, I didn't have any problems with the waist. I like that there is a built-in way to adjust the waist so the pants work over layers of various thickness.

From the reviews, these sound sized. Would you confirm this for the XL? I can sometimes wear an XL, but lately the sizing seems to err smaller and smaller. I also need a reasonable rise, not a fashionably short rise.

Hiya mercuryhg, thanks for your question! I've heard that this pant runs true-to-size. There is a link to a helpful size chart located in the lower right corner of the drop down size menu. Hope this helps!
