Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough and light I was really impressed with how durable and still so light this bivy is. It rolls up easily and quickly and cleans up with little effort. Worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Bivy Of Your Dreams This is the Bivy I'd been searching for: lightweight, compact, with no unnecessary thrills. Favorite features: (did I say lightweight?), foot vent, and voluminous enough for my 2" sea to summit air mattress and 20* bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improved Warmth The product is better oversized than too small. Some more vents might be an improvement. The bivy really enables a lightweight sleeping bag in cold weather, although some frost always forms on the inside surface. I was mistakingly using the bivy upside down at first. In the correct position the mesh head cover works better. The product is best for improved warmth. Thanks for the great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome. Get one. I bought this for late fall and winter camping. Camping where I don't need to use a bug net. And this product has been awesome. It adds warmth and protection when out in the back country. I was initially concerned about the weight, but this product packs down and really weighs almost nothing once it is packed away. Get one and I don't think you will regret it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product but not for too cold of weather The bivy worked great as far as space and I am 5' 10" 190lbs and it fit my sleeping bag inside also. When I stayed in the bivy it was 15 degrees so I decided to zip it up to stay warm. Unfortunately a few hours later I woke up to the top of the bivy soaked with condensation. Had to open it so I wouldn't get wet. But definitely would use it if it was warmer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alaskan Refuge Although there are more expensive and heavier bivy's in OR's lineup I wanted something ultralight that would work in Alaska and Montana for all seasons. In winter the bivy extends the Plasma 15 rating closer to 0 degrees. The photos show how I added an upgrade 3rd party mosquito hood which allows the ultimate in protection during summer pursuits. My Marmot plasma 15 with Thermarest insulated NeoAir mattress fit inside surprisingly well. I could add a closed cell foam pad as well and still have room.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good in the rain Used this for a Wonderland Trail trip. Worked well until I experienced rain/snow the last night. I had my head under a friends tent vestibule so I didn't have to cover my face during the rain/ snow in hopes of reducing condensation inside the bivy, however, within about 30 minutes of getting into the bivy that night (rain was fairly heavy at that point) , the inside of the bivy was wet and my down bag was getting wet. I hadn't experienced any condensation the previous 5 nights, but that rain caused a lot of issues for this bivy. I would avoid this in rainy conditions and go with a Gore-Tex bivy.

I am a homeless advocate and am interested in this item.  Can you tell me how effective it is and at what temperatures?  I am trying to help people who are totally desperate while waiting for more pernanent housing.

Asked by: Jazzy
Thanks for the question! This is a completely waterproof, breathable product with a mesh-liner to keep bugs out. There is also mesh at the footbox to offer cross-ventilation. I do not have an exact temperature range, but this is a 3-season bivy. So I would not suggest it for extremely cold conditions. Hope this helps!
