Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great idea that did not fit me. In fairness to The great folks at OR, even as a professional guide and a military guy, I am not easy to fit. In spite of being in shape, I am an outlier with an ideal pant measurement of 38"W x 29"L. I ordered XXL. Waist fit. Indeem way too long and crotch had extra room for a grapefruit. I returned them. Quality and design are great. If they fit you, you will get a lot of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and breathable These pants work very well for high aerobic activities, and are comfortable too. Most of the pant is a lightweight fleece, But the inner parts of the legs are made of a more lightweight, breathable fabric that vents heat wonderfully, yet still keeps you warm when you're taking a break. The outer fabric is very finely woven. It blocks the wind and sheds snow. The zip pockets are very handy. These have made my Sporthills obsolete. My favorite cross country ski pants ever, hands down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good pants for cold weather running I bought these pants to run as it gets colder. They're good for temperatures ranging from 0-20 degrees Fahrenheit when I wear a sweater, hats, and gloves. I've been using them for about 5 months now and having had any issues with the durability of the pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for what I wanted The product was as expected. I wore it under my ski shell pant for a recent trip to Whistler. The temps were in the low teens to low twenty's Fahrenheit. Stayed very warm. They can also be worn walking around the lodge without being too tight. Mike

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to pants for winter activities! I picked these pants up looking for a replacement for my warmer base layer. I teach a handful of avalanche classes every winter and there is always a lot of standing around so I usually layer warmer than normal. Not only did I get a great layer to pair with the White Room pants I've found these to be my everyday layer for cold days in the skin track, chilly days on the chairlift, and I even wore them under my Skyward pants when I was a belay slave for an ice climbing outing at 0F/-15C and stayed comfortable with lots of layers on top. There wasn't any wind that day, not sure I could say the same if there had been. I've done a bit of trail running in these when the temps dip below freezing. My only complaint is that I haven't been able to catch the large in stock so I can order a second pair.

Is there an ankle zipper?  Doesn't look like it but wanted to double-check. If they do, I'll buy 'em :)

Asked by: ClaretAndBlue
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, there is no zipper at the ankle. The only area on this pant that has zippers is the two hand pockets. Please don't hate me.

Measuring Guide & Fit Styles

OUTDOOR RESEARCH MEASURING GUIDE
To get the most accurate measurement, use a flexible measuring tape and use the measuring guide info below.

• CHEST / BUST - measure under your arms around the fullest part of your chest.

• WAIST - measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.

• HIPS - measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.

• INSEAM - choose a pair of pants that fits you well and is true to size, hitting at the top of the foot. Measure the inseam from crotch seam to the bottom of the hem.

• GLOVES - for the circumference measure around a flat hand at the knuckles, but do NOT include the thumb. For the hand length measure your hand from the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your OR glove size.

• HATS - measure around your head where the headwear would be expected to fit comfortably.
