Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was shocked by this glove Mnt Washington, 3-21, 10-15F, 20-30 MPH winds: I don't normally use gloves that much because my hands get cold, so if it's less that 20F, I'm normally in an overmitt combo. I used these gloves recently on a 15F excursion for dexterity with an axe. After climbing 1400 verticle up a 40 degree snow gully, my hair and wicking layers under double weeve softshells were pretty wet. I was checking out my gloves on the ridge because the wind exposure was much higher and I wanted to swap over to mitts if they were wet. I took the liners out to dry them and... they weren't wet. The inside of the liner wasn't wet either. And this is after periodically dropping little bits of snow into the gloves on the skin and climb up. Whoa, shocking, ok. Keep the gloves on. I trudged and post holed across the ridge for a mile breaking trail across rock, krumholtz and sastrugi, soaking a new hat. I checked the gloves again and still dry. Whoa, still shocking, ok. Love these gloves. Next day, I spent 90 minutes in too little clothing (10f, winds at 20) photographing skiers in tuckermans. It turns out I can work the whole camera including recessed video buttons and zoom with these gloves on. As I started shivering, my hands were still warm. Again, shocked, by the dexterity this time. I don't like the price, but I'm buying a spare pair now in case the populace get's stupid and doesn't buy enough of these gloves for OR to continue to make them. Buy buy buy, these are an heirloom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Climbing Glove I've Ever Used I got these gloves to replace my BD punishers for a trip down to Patagonia this season. Needless to say everything about these gloves blew me away and they quickly became my favorite and most reliable piece of kit. During the trip we attempted Exocet but because of 90 km/hr winds and crazy amounts of spindrift bailed 2 1/2 pitches up the chimney. While we were rapping every single layer on me got completely drenched (including my $400 Arcteryx hardshell) as the chimney melted out on top of us during the heat of the day...but the luminary sensor gloves kept my hands warm and for the most part dry throughout the 26 hour ordeal. Seriously if you are looking for a glove for alpine climbing... I can't recommend this one enough. It is super warm, basically waterproof, and incredibly dextrous for how warm it is. I had no problem following the steeper pitches on Exocet and also handling the many rappels down back to the glacier. The only thing I would't recommend these gloves for would be for leading on steep ice but for everything else they are awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built to endure Looked at and tested several winter gloves and the Luminary topped them all. Soft, grippy leather and strong outer layer on the back of the hand and gauntlet. Bought them for a winter to Mount Hood where the weather can be unpredictable and these held up without any problem. I expect them to be my extreme go to gloves for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well built, another OR success Normally wear a LG but needed to return the LG and get an XL. Well built and will serve as my extreme cold glove.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Second Pair This is my second pair of these gloves. I had a version prior to the "sensor" addition. My last pair are a large and I got these in a medium. I am kind of between sizes but have mediums of all my other OR gloves so did it with this pair. I was a little concerned initially as they were tight in the thumb and index finger but appear to have broken in sufficient for that to not be an issue. I like a 2 piece glove for winter camping so I can take them apart to dry in my bag overnight. The previous version had a longer gauntlet and the liner was full length where it is not in these. I liked that about the earlier version but these fit better. I find them to be sufficiently warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, warm and well made. A well priced glove that is ideal for west coast skiing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Who can not like OR? This glove appears to be a wonderful product. I say appears because I had to return them for size. I am 6'3" 195lbs with hands to match, the XL did not have long enough fingers. I also always wear liners which would have also been impossible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! Really liking these so far. In haven't had a chance to put them through anything crazy yet as it's September so I am looking forward to winter tonreally get a good idea. I felt as if they were a bit snug as a large but it might just be that my last pair were so old that I don't remember what a good glove feels like. They work with my phone which I look forward to having while skiing. Great looking glove and seems to be well built. Thanks again!

OUTDOOR RESEARCH MEASURING GUIDE
To get the most accurate measurement, use a flexible measuring tape and use the measuring guide info below.

• CHEST / BUST - measure under your arms around the fullest part of your chest.

• WAIST - measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.

• HIPS - measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.

• INSEAM - choose a pair of pants that fits you well and is true to size, hitting at the top of the foot. Measure the inseam from crotch seam to the bottom of the hem.
