WINDSTOPPER fabrics utilize an ultra-light, ultra-thin membrane to block wind while allowing interior moisture vapor to escape. This will keep your body and your inner layers dry and comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around awesome This might be my favourite OR purchase to-date. This is a great, light-weight jacket that can handle some rain and block wind. It's also very stylish. It does fit trim, FYI. All around great jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great jacket As a Park Ranger, I was drawn to this jacket due to its breath-ability. It is a great jacket. Lots of features that I find useful. Like it so much, I ordered one for myself as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket for backcountry skiing 6 feet - 190lbs. I bought the large. Fits great - I layer a t-shirt and a thin fleece jacket under it when the temps really dip. The Windstopper fabric has a great feel so wearing with a t-shirt is nice as well. The hem to bicep zippers are amazing at dumping heat on the skin track. Once on top I zipped everything up and stored my skins in the shove-it pockets. My skins are cut for 190cm skis that are 133mm at the tips. Plenty of room if you roll your skins up. Both of these features were key design items that attracted me to this coat. Both worked as advertised - if not better than I hoped they would. It's great at blocking the wind and resisting moisture as you would expect from a Windstopper fabric. I haven't had the coat in a full-on deluge but I probably wouldn't elect to bring this coat in those conditions. For light to moderate snow it works really well. I pair this coat with OR's Trailbreaker pants. Best combination I've used yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Soft Shell Fitted a big larger then I expected. 510", 165 and the medium was perfect for me. Light and versatile. My only complaint is that the two way zippers can be cumbersome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another winner from OR Great piece. Stops wind like a pro. Sheds light rain and snow but will wet out after being in the wet for a while, but that is to be expected as it is a Windstopper soft shell and not a hard-shell. Very light weight and easily fits into a pack. For reference I am 6' about 190 lbs athletic build and went with the large. It fits great and allows for a light base-layer and fleece without restricting movement.....this is not a piece for extreme cold weather. It can be comfortably used into the 20 degree range if you are being active.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid touring jacket Picked up this jacket for ski touring and I'm glad I did as I've been searching for something more breathable but can still hold up to some weather. This jacket has been awesome to wear while ski touring. The Linchpin can be tailored to your comfort level on the way up and Windstopper does a great job fighting off precip and keeping you comfortable on the way down. As a fit note I had to order an XL in order for the sleeves to cover my wrists. I have an Axiom in size L and it fits great so I'm not sure why the difference but keep this in mind when ordering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket - a lot uses I am part of a group that tests gear for gore-tex but I purchased this jacket myself and I love it. I have sweat a lot and the lightness and breathability are appreciated. I like the placement and size of the exterior pockets. I also really like the large internal pockets. It is much lighter than my previous wind-stopper jackets but still blocks the wind and sheds any light rain or mist that we get in the PNW. I mentioned that I sweat a lot and tend to overheat easily, the full side vents are great and a few of my friends have taken notice of how much they open. My wife compliments me on the fit and style of the jacket compared to many similar jackets. A new favorite jacket and I'll be getting rid of some of my older jackets. I'm 5'3" and 165lbs with broad shoulders and I wear the medium. I can wear it hiking, snowshoeing, around town and likely skiing.
