Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best, Lightest, Most Packable Rain Jacket. Ever. Had this jacket on a couple of high elevation hikes recently when storms rolled in. With just a medium weight base layer under -- I stayed warm and dry and the rain, snow and wind were kept at bay. For a jacket that packs this small, the protection is amazing. And breathes really well. Always in my pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice jacket, looking forward to colder weather Got the jacket as a wind/rain layer and it has performed well. Comfortable, light and water resistant. Looking forward to putting it over a base and insulation layer and doing some winter climbing in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A rain jacket for Mountain Running I haven't seen too many runners peak their heads onto this one, but this was instantly my favorite piece for mountain running. Once we got about 13k I put the jacket on. After three 14k peaks and skirting a storm the whole time, the interstellar handled perfectly both under a running vest and over it. Once we got below tree line it started to rain. The jacket performed here as well, not surprisingly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meeting all my expectations I got the Interstellar Jacket in replacement of my soft shell Alibi, which had been my favorite go-to jacket for any adventure for many years across the Western US. I was hesitant about getting a crinkly hard shell, and this is not the case. I've tested this out on the Maine coast, in the Adirondacks and on a tour of the Canadian East Coast. It is absolutely light, very windproof and great in sun or rain and anywhere in between. On a cold, windy day, I only needed the appropriate base layers to feel warm. On a warm day, this black jacket is totally fine and only after running or hiking really hard or if it is hot and humid do I notice the faintest moisture. Although I miss my Alibi, this is a great replacement and I plan to use it in every climate, every weather condition and any outdoor sport. I'm really looking forward to see how this performs in winter snow conditions as well, and although it doesn't have the same insulation as my Alibi, I have little worry that it won't perform well as my outer layer. Also, if you haven't had an Outdoor Research jacket before, I would size one up one more than usual. My Large fits well even though I generally wear Medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect rain jacket! Overall, everything I have ever wanted in a jacket. Nothing I did not. Consider pitzips (?) I guess...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed a Holy Grail of rain jackets If you believe in long-term strategy, this is indeed a good investment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great material, could use more features This is the first garment I've owned that was billed as "breathable" that actually is! Great, airy material that sheds rain. It's a straightforward design, but could use additional features like pit zips. The sizing is slim, it's a little too tight on my hips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Good wind breaker & for wet spring conditions in west coast area Great for trail work as quite breathable, light, tough enough for bushwacking, excellent bug repellent and not too hot
