Stay protected with GORE-TEX PacLite 2L fabric, which is waterproof, windproof, and breathable against the weather. The jacket packs into the left hand pocket, so bring it along without it taking up much space. Wear it like a regular jacket, or the sides feature zippers that open from hem to bicep, allowing for poncho-style wear and the release of heat build-up.

It's about as waterproof and breathable as a paper bag. Water always travels up the sleeves, the cuffs being too wide and their adjustment is cr@p.

It's a great rain shell and windbreaker. I love the full length pit-to-waist zips for regulating temperature, though heavy rains will sneak in if you leave the zips too wide-open. Way better than no pit zips or small pit zips. I also love the colors on the redrock/naval blue. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I wish it had a belay zipper (to open the zipper from the bottom). I have an older OR rain shell (perhaps the Foray I? It's about 5 or 6 years old now), and it had a belay zipper, making it easy to wear with a harness. The old rain shell is still going strong, but I handed it down. I expect the new one will have the same durability.

Does the torso zipper open from pit to bottom seam as well as from bottom seam to pit? Ie: are there 2 separate zipper pulls?

Hey there, thanks for your question. The Torsoflo venting on the Outdoor Research Men's Foray II Jacket has 2 way zippers. You can completely unzip from the bottom for free flow, or unzip from the top, for less extreme ventilation. I hope this helps!
