Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toasty Warm! This is a toasty warm headband. I like using it for skiing and running in the winter. It stays in place very well, and covers my ears completely. As a suggestion, I would make it a uniform width. I find sometimes that my forehead gets cold

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Bought one for my wife & 1 for myself. She likes the Velcro closure at the back so she can put it on easily with her hair up in a bun. I was concerned buying this online sight unseen, but Outdoor Research never disipoints. I have lots of OR gear and my main worry was how it might effect hearing. This is not expedition gear so the material is not heavy enough to cause problems hearing. For keeping the wind out of your ears it works great. It's so compact there is no reason not to carry it. Makes a good layer under a wool hat for skiing. I put it in the top of my hat when I get hot & sitting on the lift that layer is nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does a nice job, but not without issues I’ve used this a few times since it arrived (temps haven’t been below 28 yet) so this is just an initial review. After I get some serious use I will update the review. I purchased the Coyote Brown, harder to lose on the ground or floor. So, so far it has been comfy and warm, which is what is is supposed to do, and the fit is accurate (I am right on the upper edge of the size, 22-3/4 for medium that goes to 22-7/8). There have been some windy days (up to 14mph) and I haven’t felt the windchill on my ears. Sound is muffled to some degree (as expected since it does cover the ears) but it hasn’t created a problem hearing the traffic as I walk alongside the road. The only real problem I have had is that it uses a Velcro closure in the back, instead of being strechy like others I’ve used. As I said, I am on the upper range of the size, another eight-inch and I would have had to return it because there wouldn’t be enough Velcro to fasten solidly. If you are also on the upper edge of the range (or, maybe even the lower) I would suggest buying both and returning the one that doesn’t fit, just to be on the safe side. UPDATE: It's been nearly a month now that I've been using the ear bands, with temps in the single-digits (wind chills below zero), so, here we go. Best description is yesterday's trip. Outside temp was 13, winds at 9 mph, gusting to 14, which puts the windchill between 1 and -2. Went for a walk to a local store and back, about 3/4 mile each way. Outbound I used the OR Ear Band, inbound I switched to my OR Balaclava. The ear bands kept my forehead and ears nice an toasty, which is what they are supposed to do, the rest of my face, however, was freezing (which is why I switched to the balaclava on the trip back. As a comparison, the ear bands did a better job of keeping my ears warm than the balaclava, I found that surprising. Next time out I may combine the two for extra warmth. I still have a problem with the hook-and-loop closure, but for a different reason. the Ear band has enough stretch now to make closing more secure, but I found that if you don't line them up just right the hook part (top part of the closure) rests against the scalp or neck, really uncomfortable, so it may take a couple tries to get it right. If OR is listening I would suggest reversing the hook-and-loop so that the loop part forms the top part of the closure, loops are more comfortable against skin than hooks. Well, that ends the review. End result: yes, I would both recommend these and buy them again. They do an excellent job at keeping the forehead and ears warm, are soft to the skin (hook-and-loop aside), and do fit nicely after a couple uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm ears I bought this near the end of the cold season but look forward to many seasons of use. They do the trick. Slightly small, so order a size up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stays Put and Keeps My Ears Warm My ears are the first thing to go running in the cold, but this headband keeps them nice and toasty without overheating my whole head. The velcro keeps the band in place and every few wears I throw it in the wash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST EARBAND EVER! I wear mine everyday from October through April. I have a very active life including caring for our country home, homeschooling four children, and photographing outdoors. I photograph outdoor scenes mainly in fall, winter and spring, so great gear is a must. I often experience migraines- I have had a few neck injuries and my favorite feature of this ear band is the velcro closure! I can take it off or put it on quickly and I can adjust the fit by adjusting the velcro closure. (I have long hair that I do have to move out of the way, but such a small thing for this perfect earband which keeps my ears and forehead warm in -30 temps.) The Minnesota wind is stopped by this ear band keeping me comfortable to I can accomplish about anything I need to!

Can you wear this with the back to the front? E.g. Long forehead and want coverage up front? Also, is it adjustable?

Asked by: Marko
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Out of all the bands that we sell that cover ears...this is one of them. Absolutely you can wear this with the back to the front! Be a trendsetter! Your ears will be covered either way. While this isn't adjustable in the 'hook-and-loop' vein, it does have big patch of velcro where you can adjust how tight/loose you want it and the material is stretchy! Hope this helped you out!
