Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

Probably not keeping itThis is not a full review, but an initial reaction to what I consider a really poor design. I got this as a replacement for the previous generation of the Helium bivy that I'd had out on several bikepacking adventures in CA from 8k' at freezing to warm summer redwood forest trips. That model had 5 stake out points and I'd used kam snaps to keep the zip-able head portion of the top rolled up for better air circulation. I didn't get bad condensation if I had the proper temp quilt for the climate. I could fit a rectangular Neo Air All Season pad with a 20º down quilt no problem. So I decided to "upgrade" to the Alpine AscentShell bivy, mostly for the new zip style, but calling this an "alpine" bivy is a bit much. I'm 6' 180lb. and my feet would be wrecked in freezing conditions. I'm a side sleeper and even then, crawling into it with that same Neo Air pad and a 40º down bag, there was a lot compression happening. If I were to sleep on my back, my feet would fully compress the down. It also needs more tie down points, like the current Helium. Not sure if the roll top lop can be used to guy up the mid section of the bivy, but if I keep it, I'll consider adding other points with Tenacious Tape and shock cord. Overall, the headspace feels less claustrophobic than the Helium, but there's not pocket like the Helium had. And I must say, it's way easier to get into and out of than the Helium. If you're going with an UL tapered air pad or a foam pad, you'll be alright, but this is definitely a 2-3 season item for anyone north of 5'10". (I've also had the GoreTex Alpine bivy, so I've got some experience with OR's bivy options) Again, this bivy hasn't seen the outside of my house, so no real world experience, but it will probably stay that way.

Emergency shelterI have this in my 24 hour pack for search and rescue as an emergency shelter. I have slept a couple of nights in it, in alpine conditions in the summer where it drops to about 7 degrees Celsius at night and both times I woke up with lots of condensation inside. You need to fry your sleeping bag and everything inside and this was with the vent opened completely about 1.5 feet, so tons of ventilation. Not much room for extra gear just your cellphone/radio/water etc. I am not sure if I would buy it again and I don't have anyone I would recommend it too but i am glad I have it as back up as it still beats sleeping under a tarp.

Great Bivy with issuesI'm a Bivy Sack fan. The Alpine bivy has been my favorite, other then the entry so I picked up this one, everything about it is great but I got it for extreme conditions/cold weather and it is very tight with a insulated pads depth, I use a full xtherm mat.I'm 5-10, with a full pad your feet get restricted. Make the sac with about 3 more inches of vertical volume please. Also, when you are Biving at 13000 feet on a ridge edge, the 2 attachment loops are questionable when you are not in the sack, it can catch wind underneath and your Entire shelter system cold pull of the mountain when you step out to take a pee In the middle of the night. A lot of potential or good for a petit person in 3 season conditions.

Could be designed betterFully understanding that this item is for necessity camping on long hikes as a way to reduce weight and not comfort camping, I still have some issues with it. 1.) Its not tall enough to have an thin air mattress in. A closed cell matt is all I would recommend. When sleeping on your side, as I often do, your shoulders touch the mosquito netting and they bite right through it. 2.) It only has 2 anchor points and needs 4. One tent peg at the head and one at the foot. If they come loose/free from tossing and turning the entire tent looses its shape and you have to get out of the sack and re-spike it. i bought this for the JMT and there will be rocky spots with not enough dirt to hold a peg and I am hoping that a pile of rocks will be enough to hold its shape. 3.) It does not come with line/string to anchor the pegs, or pegs themselves. East fix to buy them separately but for the $$$ you think they would include them. 4.) There is no pouch or pocket inside to hold your glasses, phone, head lamp, etc. This forces you to let them float in the tent and I crushed my glasses as a result. Seems like this wouldn't add much weight to sew a pocket in.

Love it but the stake loop brokeSo far I love this bivy! I have been using it on the pacific crest trail and so far it's been amazing. I'm 5 foot 8 and it fits me just fine with lots of room to turn around inside. My only problem with this bivy is that the loop for staking the head area just ripped right out... I've only used the bivy 5-6 times and that's all it to break the stake loop. Now that it's gone the front falls down. I'll either be sending it back to be repaired or super glueing a loop back to make it usable again. Disappointed that it broke but I'll be happy once it's fixed.
