Rated 5 out of 5 by from great bag for longer rides that require more equipment The main compartment has plenty of space and comfort for my rather large first aid kit ,spare tube, gopro stuff and my tall pump with about half capicity left, all of my spare parts such as brake pads, mater links, tire levers, multitool, patch kits, fit snuggly in the tool pouch, which i find mighty usefull because it keeps everthing orginized without clanking around. the sunglasses/phone pocket actually keeps pressure from full main compartment off the glasses so they dont break. The stuff pouch area isnt the largest so its only really usefull for light layers. the outer zipper pocket has good storage pockets for foond and whatever you want. the hippockets are great for easy grab things as well. the cons of this bag are its not the best if you have a smaller waist size(im size 29) and my back will sweat super hard no matter how cool the air is. all in all it is worth your money if you like to bring your lite survival gear on a mtb ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pefrect MTB / cycling pack This pack is exceptional. I have used other competing brands and this is by far the best pack ever ! I use this pack for Mountain biking and occasionally Road biking. IT is incredibly comfortable, barely even know it's there. The strap system makes it secure so that it doesn't bounce around like other packs when your cranking down some single track. The back padding and mesh allow it to breath and not over heat you. I have used on humid, 90 plus degree days and still been comfortable. The features that are built in for MTB are awesome, the tool compartment and organizer are great to keep your basic tools and misc small parts organized and together , easy to access at the bottom of the pack. All the pockets and various organizers and mesh pockets make it super easy to organize your gear and allow it to be super easy to find when you need on the trail, whether hiking or biking. Even comfortable for road biking, even though it's alittle on the larger size it is still comfy on a road bike. Can even through a full size camera and lens in there on the trails. Roomy enough for everything you need and even stuff you don't need, but can sinch down to a really compact size for when you don't need a lot of gear but need your pack. Overall this is an exceptional design that hits all the marks and exceeds them. Look no further if you need a hydration pack for MTB, cycling or day hiking. This tackles them all with ease. Plus that helmet holder is a great little thing. Takes up no space and tucks out of the way when not needed, but works amazingly when you need it. I would give this 10 stars if it was an option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and Compact I am loving this bag. I recently got into mountain biking, and I needed bag for water, biking tools and, of course, snacks. This is has perfect for all my day biking trips - with the 3L osprey hydration pack, built-in tool compartment, and the many other pockets, I have everything I need and it stays very organized. I think anything bigger would be too much for mountain biking. This is the perfect size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Father's Day Gift I received!! Just received this as a Father's Day gift 2 days ago and already in love with it. Same size as a previous bag, but only 1/3 of the sweat produced. Feels like I'm not wearing a bag on my daily 16 mile commute. Love it, should have purchased this a long time ago!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Might be the best pack made This is my go-to pack for mountain biking. I also have the Talon 22, but I always reach for the Raptor when heading out. Perfect for summer, with room enough for more gear in spring, fall and winter. The magnet on the hydration hose is genius. I honestly think it might be the best pack being made, at least that I've tried (Marmot, Arc'Teryx, Mountainsmith, Zefal).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great MTB Hydration Pack I ordered this online after checking it out in a competing store. Once it came in, I was impressed with the quality of the pack and the capacity to add my emergency gear for riding and have 3L on top of it for riding. The pack is very comfortable to wear and I love the magnetic latch on the hydration hose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best mountain biking pack ever I've had this pack for 10 years now , I've used it for everything! I fist baught it as an adventure racing pack and it worked great for the 24,12,10, and 8 hour races that I've done. Keeps the weight balenced, the bite valve right where it should be with the magnets , and the helmet carrier works great for when your orienteering through the woods and not on your bike. As for the other uses. I've had this rock climbing, day hiking and it's curent main use mountain biking. The ventalation works well and it doesnt move while hitting rough terrain. This pack has also saved me on several occasions when I've taken a good crash and landed down a cliff "4-6 feet nothing big" and the rocks hit the pack and not me, the bladder did not bust, and the pack didn't rip. I want to get the new version since they have the fancy tool holder in the bottom now but I just can't beak my old one to have a reason to. Great product would wighly recomend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pack; Comfortable and Light Purchased this pack over five years ago and it continues to serve me well. Does everything a daypack needs to do. I use it for hiking and skiing mountains near my home and on the Continental Divide. Three years ago the clip on the chest strap broke. However; after I called Osprey, they sent me a complete new chest strap with a new clip at no charge. Thanks Osprey! I'm over 70 and use the pack every week and it still is in great condition. I highly recommend this for day hikes, skiing, or any activity where a smaller day pack is needed.

Can you use it for ultra running?

Asked by: purple aces
Thanks for the question! The Raptor 14 was designed for more as a mountain biking pack. It may be a little heavy for ultra running at 25.7 oz. I would stick with a more vest-style pack, such as the Men's Duro 6 Hydration Pack or the Women's Dyna 6 Hydration Pack. I wasn't sure if you needed Men's or Women's. Both are light-weight, offer 1.5 liter reservoir, and plenty of pocket space. I included links below. I hope this helps! https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Osprey-Men-s-Duro-6-Hydration-Pack_10333333_10208_10000001_-1_ https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Osprey-Women-s-Dyna-6-Hydration-Pack_10333338_10208_10000001_-1_

- + Size Guide

Osprey Raptor 14 Pack

Size One Size
Torso Range 17 - 21" / 43 - 53 cm
Volume / Pack Capacity 14 liters / 854 cubic inches
Dimensions 20 x 9 x 9 in.
Weight 1.61 lbs
Hipbelt 25 - 50" / 64 - 127 cm

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size the pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size chart above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelt size info above to help determine your ideal pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

ALL MIGHTY GUARANTEE - Osprey's Lifetime Warranty

When Osprey celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2009 they launched The Osprey All Mighty Guarantee. What that means to you is ANY Osprey product purchased at ANY time is covered. Any product, any reason, any era - the all encompassing Osprey lifetime warranty ensures their dedication to superior design, craftsmanship and quality of their products is backed up by their actions to replace or repair a pack so it lasts a lifetime. Or two.

Here are some details.... Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in their products, whether it was purchased back in 1974, or ordered right now from this site. If they are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, they will happily replace it. Osprey proudly stands behind the All Mighty Guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer.

Some Osprey All Mighty Guarantee FAQs:

What do I do if my Osprey pack needs to be repaired?
If you live in the United States and need a repair done on your Osprey pack, you will first need to obtain a Return Authorization number. You can do this by reaching their Returns Department at 866-314-3130, or using the information that is provided with a new Osprey pack.

What do I do if I just need a replacement pack part like a buckle?
Give Osprey a call at 866-314-3130 and they will take care of you.

How long will it take?
You can tell Osprey you need the pack returned by a certain date when you request a Return Authorization number, and they will do their absolute best to meet that deadline.

What if my pack is super dirty and stinks?
Clean it before you send it to Osprey to get repaired. The real reason is that there is a law that says if your gear is too dirty or odiferous (smelly), Osprey is not allowed to repair it and will just return it to you.

Do I have to pay for shipping?
A little bit. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the pack to Osprey, and they will pay shipping to return the pack via UPS or FedEx. Osprey cannot be held responsible if packages get lost in transit, so make sure you get a tracking number when you ship your pack out. Also, if you use expedited shipping be sure to let Osprey know (866-314-3130). They, in turn, will give your pack priority processing and return it using a similar expedited shipping method.

Do I have to register my pack to take advantage of this incredible guarantee, and/or need to be the original owner of my Osprey pack?
No! Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee is truly ALL MIGHTY. If you own an Osprey pack that needs to be repaired they will repair or replace it.

JUST A HEADS UP: If your Osprey product is not repairable and is replaced, the original product will not be returned to you. They will try really really hard to repair your pack, but if they are unable to make a functional repair, they will replace it. For products that are no longer in production you will be contacted by Osprey to discuss replacement options.

All good answers. So what is NOT covered?
• Osprey program packs or any Osprey pack used by outdoor programs are ONLY covered under Osprey's Program Pack Warranty, NOT AMG.
• Size and/or fit issues. Make sure you buy a pack that fits. Check out the size guide on Osprey product pages for more info.
• Personal preferences like colors you don't like, style of the pack, or not enough/too much room in your pack. Check the product description, features, specifications, and size guide to make sure you are ordering the right pack for you.
• Third party Repairs or replacements. Send your Osprey pack to Osprey and Osprey only to get fixed. Easy as that. And don't try fixing things yourself.
• Cosmetic wear and tear including any reasonable aging of your pack that affects only the appearance and not the function of your pack. Be proud of those scars!
• B.A.M.G. (Before All Mighty Guarantee) Repair Work. The All Mighty Guarantee applies only to repairs requested on or after January 1, 2009.
• A Osprey Hydraulics reservoir is covered by a limited 1-year warranty, which is the reasonable lifespan of a reservoir. Pouring and storing of warm/hot or boiling water in your reservoir WILL VOID your warranty, so don't do that. Reservoirs are NOT designed to contain or handle liquids at temperature.
