Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

Awesome packBought this one after having the 38 liter for a couple years. They’re just great packs. You can’t beat Osprey, especially the Mutant. The pack carry’s well and packs even better.

My Go-To Pack For Alpine RoutesThis is my second Mutant pack. I have the previous generation 28 liter and I love that pack so much I decided to give the new 52 a shot. It does quite well. It is a alpine pack so if you are looking for a bunch of pockets and stuff, I recommend getting a hiking pack. I use this pack on 2-3 day trips. I carried it on Chimborazo and Cotopaxi and it was more than large enough. It's large enough to carry in the Cascades as well (although on Rainier I use my Aether Pro 70). These packs are better than everything I've seen short of Hyperlite. I consider a BD Mission but it is heavier and I am weary of manufactures who don't specialize in gear (Osprey only builds packs where BD builds all sorts of stuff). It does not come with a rain cover though like it says here in the description. Moosejaw, fix that please. Perhaps my favorite feature is the removeable brain and top flap that is underneath. And the gear loops are great. I've also used the haul loops to haul it up rock faces. They do the job but if you do it enough, you will wear holes in the material (from rubbing on the rock). The Deuter Guide line is similar. But I am just comfortable carrying Osprey on my climbs. They fit me well. Also, it's easy to add a crampon carrying system to the back. Check out the pictures.

Light and comfortableI bought this pack looking for something that could strike a balance between having the right attachments for technical gear, being spacious enough to carry winter mountaineering/ snow camping gear, while remaining comfortable. I was able to try it out this week on Mt Hood. It performed extremely well. I was a little concerned about the ice axe attachments and the shallowness of the ski/picket pockets, but they worked fine. The helmet attachment is brilliant. Where the pack shined for me is that until I needed something out of it I forgot I was wearing it. It compresses down well and moved with me on the more technical terrain staying snug on my body, not sloshing around. I can’t speak to durability yet, but the materials seem high quality and it’s built well so I have high hopes. Great bag for carrying bigger loads on alpine adventures.

Easy to adjust and comfortable to wearWe bought this for our 15 year old son. He is currently 5’9” and growing, my husband who is 5’7” was able to wear it comfortably too and there is room for growth for our son. We plan on using it for carrying rock climbing gear as well as some one and two night back country camping. It has plenty of space for all the gear and food that he will need for those trips in it.

Lacking in feature set and capacityI compared this pack directly to the Gregory Alpinisto 50. I purchased both to make side by side comparisons of a larger technical pack to take on multi day alpine adventures. This pack is to be used for approaching high camps, and then being used for summit attempts. I dabble in general mountaineering with glacier travel, alpine rock climbing, and ice climbing. I loaded the same weight and gear into both packs and it was apparent that the Mutant held less volume than the Gregory even though it is listed as 2 liters larger. The straps for the lid do not extend out to accommodate a a taller load. The side picket pockets are pretty much useless besides holding the bottom end of a strapped picket. There is not a hip belt pocket, just a gear loop on each side. I know some hardcore climbers don't want a hip pocket, but I find it invaluable to stash gels and bars to refuel in a short 3 minute break without having to remove pack. You have to stow your crampons in the pack or strap them to the front. The Alpinisto has a burly crampon pocket that is perfect and easy to access crampons when you need them. The helmet carry is a bit cheesy. You are better off just buckling your helmet to the gear loops on the front. I bet the smaller size is a lot better option in the mutant line.

Super comfortable with rock climbing gear.I bought this to carry rope, harness, shoes, & helmet for daytime rock climbing. It’s light, well-constructed, and super comfortable. There aren’t any bottle holders on the outside but they fit fine inside. There are gear loops on the outside which work great for carrying extra things or sweaty gear.

Climbing with a osprey, make sure it works with a helmet.Osprey packs, often have a internal frame extending above the shoulder straps. This can hinder head movement looking up, when ski touring, climbing, especially with a helmet on.

ALL MIGHTY GUARANTEE - Osprey's Lifetime Warranty
When Osprey celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2009 they launched The Osprey All Mighty Guarantee. What that means to you is ANY Osprey product purchased at ANY time is covered. Any product, any reason, any era - the all encompassing Osprey lifetime warranty ensures their dedication to superior design, craftsmanship and quality of their products is backed up by their actions to replace or repair a pack so it lasts a lifetime. Or two.
Here are some details.... Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in their products, whether it was purchased back in 1974, or ordered right now from this site. If they are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, they will happily replace it. Osprey proudly stands behind the All Mighty Guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer.
Some Osprey All Mighty Guarantee FAQs:
What do I do if my Osprey pack needs to be repaired?
If you live in the United States and need a repair done on your Osprey pack, you will first need to obtain a Return Authorization number. You can do this by reaching their Returns Department at 866-314-3130, or using the information that is provided with a new Osprey pack.
What do I do if I just need a replacement pack part like a buckle?
Give Osprey a call at 866-314-3130 and they will take care of you.
How long will it take?
You can tell Osprey you need the pack returned by a certain date when you request a Return Authorization number, and they will do their absolute best to meet that deadline.
What if my pack is super dirty and stinks?
Clean it before you send it to Osprey to get repaired. The real reason is that there is a law that says if your gear is too dirty or odiferous (smelly), Osprey is not allowed to repair it and will just return it to you.
Do I have to pay for shipping?
A little bit. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the pack to Osprey, and they will pay shipping to return the pack via UPS or FedEx. Osprey cannot be held responsible if packages get lost in transit, so make sure you get a tracking number when you ship your pack out. Also, if you use expedited shipping be sure to let Osprey know (866-314-3130). They, in turn, will give your pack priority processing and return it using a similar expedited shipping method.
Do I have to register my pack to take advantage of this incredible guarantee, and/or need to be the original owner of my Osprey pack?
No! Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee is truly ALL MIGHTY. If you own an Osprey pack that needs to be repaired they will repair or replace it.
JUST A HEADS UP: If your Osprey product is not repairable and is replaced, the original product will not be returned to you. They will try really really hard to repair your pack, but if they are unable to make a functional repair, they will replace it. For products that are no longer in production you will be contacted by Osprey to discuss replacement options.
All good answers. So what is NOT covered?
• Osprey program packs or any Osprey pack used by outdoor programs are ONLY covered under Osprey's Program Pack Warranty, NOT AMG.
• Size and/or fit issues. Make sure you buy a pack that fits. Check out the size guide on Osprey product pages for more info.
• Personal preferences like colors you don't like, style of the pack, or not enough/too much room in your pack. Check the product description, features, specifications, and size guide to make sure you are ordering the right pack for you.
• Third party Repairs or replacements. Send your Osprey pack to Osprey and Osprey only to get fixed. Easy as that. And don't try fixing things yourself.
• Cosmetic wear and tear including any reasonable aging of your pack that affects only the appearance and not the function of your pack. Be proud of those scars!
• B.A.M.G. (Before All Mighty Guarantee) Repair Work. The All Mighty Guarantee applies only to repairs requested on or after January 1, 2009.
• A Osprey Hydraulics reservoir is covered by a limited 1-year warranty, which is the reasonable lifespan of a reservoir. Pouring and storing of warm/hot or boiling water in your reservoir WILL VOID your warranty, so don't do that. Reservoirs are NOT designed to contain or handle liquids at temperature.
