Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.
Are you Sure?
Our Rewards Program is completely FREE and easy to use.
By opting out, you forfeit all the Moosejaw Rewards Dollars your currently have in your account, which is basically throwing away free money. What would your grandmother say about that? If you're 100% sure, please click "OptOut" below.

Great features but poor ventilationOverall likes this bag with all kinds of good features I am looking for.
Pros:
- Side access to main compartment: very handy really like this feature
- Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment
- Nice looking :)
Cons:
- Ventilation is poor: Airescape system could by no means compare with the trempoline system used by Gregory Zulu for example
- Front panel is not very strechy and hard to put things in: especially when you fasten all the belts, it's almost impossible to put things in front panel, and you need to loosen belts first ;(
- Top lid is not removable: I feel like top pockets is too big, I don't like putting a lot of things in top lid. Although it's easy to access, that's not the best distribution of weights

Exactly what I neededAdmittedly, I did an excessive amount of research before buying the Kestrel. It checked all the boxes for me. Attachment points were a must as i was looking for an easy way to attach snowshoes. Hard to find. I was also drawn in by the easy access at the top and the side zipper for getting into the main compartment. Attachment for ice axe. And the trekking pole holder is simply awesome. I also love how the pack distributes the weight. The chest and waist straps are real easy to loosen and tighten. The pockets in the waist belt are handy. Just the perfect pack for meand it lived up to expectations and then some.

My new favorite summer backpackI bought the Kestrel 38 to replace 2 other backpacks for summer overnighters and weekenders, a Manta AG 36 that doesn’t ride as close to my body and an Atmos AG 50 that’s just too big. This pack is pretty close to perfect for me! I can stack the load more vertically for a better center of gravity on mountain trails, and the width and height don’t get hung up as much on tight trails with low branches.
The pack feels like it’s hardly there from the way the waist belt really hugs you and transfers weight to your hips. You can leave the shoulder straps a little loose for flexibility when reaching for a handhold, leaving them just tight enough to hold the pack in place. 25lb is very comfortable, more so than with my Manta. The mesh backpanel and curved foam frame sheet give excellent ventilation, I haven’t used it with a hydration bladder yet but since the bladder goes between the frame sheet and bag there shouldn’t be much difference.
My favorite specifics are the adjustable shoulder strap harness, wide waist belt, and compression straps that can be routed under the side mesh pockets. Unlike my other Osprey packs, zipping the waist belt pockets shut is a one-handed affair! It’d be nice if they were a little farther forward, though, since I haven’t had a 32” waist in about 25 years. The pockets are still usable, but the Stow-On-The-Go trekking pole carrier really isn’t because the bottom loop is somewhere back around my butt-cheek. The only other change I’d make would be to make the front panel pocket all mesh.
I took a long time to decide on the Kestrel 38 - I almost didn’t because of how close it is in size to my Manta AG 36 - and I definitely think I made the right choice. It will probably be my snowshoeing pack come winter, I do about 95% cross-country and the narrow width will be nice there as well.
4 stars given for durability because I’ve only had it 2 months. My other Osprey packs that I’ve used extensively are solid 5-stars.

Love this pack!Really like the versatility of this pack. Just the right size for long day hikes or weekend trips. I've used it several times just traveling as well. I did not have the same issue with the belt pockets as the previous poster but I would try it on 1st as you may. I Construction is great! I'm not a gentle hiker and this has held up well against rocks, mud and gravel.

New Kestrel 38 not as good as Old Kestrel 38The older version of this pack was so much better. The material used on the older version shoulder and hip padded straps were much better. Also on the 38 they got rid of the vertical quick access zipper to main compartment. Please don't fix what was already amazing about your packs. If you haven't noticed the older Kestrel 28L and 38Ls are selling online as used packs for high prices because the older design was so much better. I wish you kept the higher quality materials in your older models and didn't take options like vertical quick access zippers out of the 38L pack.

Nice pack, but...Bought at MEC - comfortable, material and workmanship look excellent. But, had to return. The side pockets on the hipbelt are absolutely impossible to use with one hand - they just will not close. You must take the pack off to close the zipper, or dislocate a shoulder trying to use two hands to try and close the zipper. Too frustrating, so ended up returning the pack.
Would this pack qualify for carry on luggage on most airlines?
Asked by: Jeffy90
Hello Jeffy90!
After taking a look at this item, it was found that this pack measures 26H X 15W X 16D IN for the S/M, and 28H X 15W X 16D IN in size M/L. Although carry-on dimensions are different depending on the airline that you're on, it's safe to say that this would pass as a carry-on for most of them. Hopefully this helps!
When Osprey celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2009 they launched The Osprey All Mighty Guarantee. What that means to you is ANY Osprey product purchased at ANY time is covered. Any product, any reason, any era - the all encompassing Osprey lifetime warranty ensures their dedication to superior design, craftsmanship and quality of their products is backed up by their actions to replace or repair a pack so it lasts a lifetime. Or two.
Here are some details.... Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in their products, whether it was purchased back in 1974, or ordered right now from this site. If they are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, they will happily replace it. Osprey proudly stands behind the All Mighty Guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer.
Some Osprey All Mighty Guarantee FAQs:
What do I do if my Osprey pack needs to be repaired?
If you live in the United States and need a repair done on your Osprey pack, you will first need to obtain a Return Authorization number. You can do this by reaching their Returns Department at 866-314-3130, or using the information that is provided with a new Osprey pack.
What do I do if I just need a replacement pack part like a buckle?
Give Osprey a call at 866-314-3130 and they will take care of you.
How long will it take?
You can tell Osprey you need the pack returned by a certain date when you request a Return Authorization number, and they will do their absolute best to meet that deadline.
What if my pack is super dirty and stinks?
Clean it before you send it to Osprey to get repaired. The real reason is that there is a law that says if your gear is too dirty or odiferous (smelly), Osprey is not allowed to repair it and will just return it to you.
Do I have to pay for shipping?
A little bit. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the pack to Osprey, and they will pay shipping to return the pack via UPS or FedEx. Osprey cannot be held responsible if packages get lost in transit, so make sure you get a tracking number when you ship your pack out. Also, if you use expedited shipping be sure to let Osprey know (866-314-3130). They, in turn, will give your pack priority processing and return it using a similar expedited shipping method.
Do I have to register my pack to take advantage of this incredible guarantee, and/or need to be the original owner of my Osprey pack?
No! Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee is truly ALL MIGHTY. If you own an Osprey pack that needs to be repaired they will repair or replace it.
JUST A HEADS UP: If your Osprey product is not repairable and is replaced, the original product will not be returned to you. They will try really really hard to repair your pack, but if they are unable to make a functional repair, they will replace it. For products that are no longer in production you will be contacted by Osprey to discuss replacement options.
All good answers. So what is NOT covered?
• Osprey program packs or any Osprey pack used by outdoor programs are ONLY covered under Osprey's Program Pack Warranty, NOT AMG.
• Size and/or fit issues. Make sure you buy a pack that fits. Check out the size guide on Osprey product pages for more info.
• Personal preferences like colors you don't like, style of the pack, or not enough/too much room in your pack. Check the product description, features, specifications, and size guide to make sure you are ordering the right pack for you.
• Third party Repairs or replacements. Send your Osprey pack to Osprey and Osprey only to get fixed. Easy as that. And don't try fixing things yourself.
• Cosmetic wear and tear including any reasonable aging of your pack that affects only the appearance and not the function of your pack. Be proud of those scars!
• B.A.M.G. (Before All Mighty Guarantee) Repair Work. The All Mighty Guarantee applies only to repairs requested on or after January 1, 2009.
• A Osprey Hydraulics reservoir is covered by a limited 1-year warranty, which is the reasonable lifespan of a reservoir. Pouring and storing of warm/hot or boiling water in your reservoir WILL VOID your warranty, so don't do that. Reservoirs are NOT designed to contain or handle liquids at temperature.
