The Osprey Escapist 25 Pack is a technical pack for a myriad of active trail adventures. The pack provides 25 liters of space for all your gear, whether you're hitting the trail by foot, bike, or both. The LidLock™ and blinker light attachment easily turns this pack into a bag for biking, but they won't get in the way if you're not riding. The lower zippered compartment is sectioned off with a zip divider, a handy spot for an emergency sleeping bag or bivy. Or toss your hammock and straps in there and find yourself a couple of trees to relax under. The Airscape™ backpanel is made with ridge molded foam that vents and supports while the BioStretch™ harness and hipbelt provide comfort and stability. The hipbelts both have zippered pockets and the left harness strap has it's very own zippered pocket. You should probably jam as many energy gels, granola bars or Jolly Ranchers into those pockets as you can.

Osprey Airscape
Osprey's AirScape™ mesh covered ridge foam backpanels set a new standard in the industry. It successfully accomplished all of that in a way that allows it to be used in the large gear hauling packs and lightweight day hiking packs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally...the (almost) perfect pack ! This is my first Osprey pack, after trying other well known brands. Like many of you reading this, I am always looking for just the right pack. After purchasing the Osprey Escapist 25, I feel like my searching is over. This is such a well designed pack, with many features not found on other highly touted bags. For instance, I love the divided main compartment, which gives the pack a smaller feel, when not heavily loaded. My previous pack was the same size, and from a very competent company, but when it was not fully loaded, everything piled up way down in the bottom of the pack. With the divided compartment on the Escapist, things are closer to the top of the bag, making it actually feel smaller. I also like the fact that the side mesh pockets (typically used for bottles, etc.) have straps to cinch them down, holding the contents in place. The included rain cover is nice, and the pockets are plentiful. Add to that the comfort, light weight, and versatility, and this seems like the perfect pack for most any situation, except for long, extended hiking and camping trips which require much more space. Thank you Osprey, for a well thought out, highly functional product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for day hikes and light weekender hikes I got this pack as a Christmas gift and have given it moderate usage since then. I've done at least one day hike a week and a few weekend hikes with the pack. It packs easily for these light loads. The only complaint I would have is that it can be difficult to adjust at first, granted this was my first serious hiking pack so I guess there is a learning curve. After a little bit of time fidgeting with it I was able to find how it best adjusted to my fit and it has been quite comfortable ever since. If you're going to be doing light hikes definitely look into this pack

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack for cycle commuting and general use. The escapist is just the right size for cycle commuting. The fit is amazing. It'll be great for shorter overnight hammock backpacking trips as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best so far in my Quest I've had this over a month and have not found anything that I don't like about it. It is the best so far in my quest for the perfect pack (25+ years and counting). The configuration is just what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack I owned my first ospery escapist for 5 years and wore it nearly everyday as I carried my laptop in it to work and hiked and shopped with it on weekends. Incredibly durable and the most comfortable packpack that I have ever had. I just exchanged it as there was a slight tearing near the top at the handle and near the bottom, this due to the heavy loads. I did not use it for mountain-biking but was glad to have a place to hang my helmet as I commuted by bike.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable - bag will 'delaminate' My pack lasted 4 years, then it started to 'delaminate'. This makes the pack near unusabIe, because everything that comes into contact with this peeled off lamination will be soiled. A pack that last this long (and mine has never seen any heavy use) is the opposite of true environmental sustainability. I definitively do not recommend this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pack for Travel and Day Hiking I bought this pack for day hiking in the white mountains. Plenty of organization, and enough space for carrying around whatever I need to go out on a day of hiking, traveling, etc. Very high quality and durability. One feature I especially like is the divided main compartment with a removable divider. It's great for storing wet or dirty clothes, or whatever you want quick access to.

Does the escapist pack come with a hydration reservoir included? If not, which reservoir do I need?

Asked by: goingtothemountains
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! It's very important to keep your bag hydrated when going on long hikes. With this bag, you'll be fine with using the Osprey 2 liter Hydraulics Reservoir or anything lower. Hope this helped you out!

What's the size of the phone pocket on the front of the shoulder strap? Will it fit up to a Pixel XL or iPhone plus?

Asked by: Bribbany
Hey there Bribbany, Great question. An iPhone Plus will definitely not fit in the pocket - my 6S just barely fits with a Speck case on. As far as a Pixel XL, I didn't have one around the office to try, but it MAYBE just might fit without a case. Its right on the border so I don't want to say yes or no either way. Hope this helps!

Osprey Escapist 25 Pack

SIZE Small / Medium Medium / Large
Torso Range 16 - 20" / 40.5 - 51 cm 20 - 23" / 51 - 58.5 cm
Volume / Pack Capacity 23 liters / 1404 cubic inches 25 liters / 1526 cubic inches
Dimensions 18 x 11 x 12 in. 20 x 11 x 12 in.
Weight 2.12 lbs 2.25lbs
Hipbelt 25 - 45" / 65 - 114 cm 28 - 50" / 70 - 127 cm
Pack Weight Capacity 10 - 25 lbs

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size the pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size chart above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelt size info above to help determine your ideal pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

ALL MIGHTY GUARANTEE - Osprey's Lifetime Warranty

When Osprey celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2009 they launched The Osprey All Mighty Guarantee. What that means to you is ANY Osprey product purchased at ANY time is covered. Any product, any reason, any era - the all encompassing Osprey lifetime warranty ensures their dedication to superior design, craftsmanship and quality of their products is backed up by their actions to replace or repair a pack so it lasts a lifetime. Or two.

Here are some details.... Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in their products, whether it was purchased back in 1974, or ordered right now from this site. If they are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, they will happily replace it. Osprey proudly stands behind the All Mighty Guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer.

Some Osprey All Mighty Guarantee FAQs:

What do I do if my Osprey pack needs to be repaired?
If you live in the United States and need a repair done on your Osprey pack, you will first need to obtain a Return Authorization number. You can do this by reaching their Returns Department at 866-314-3130, or using the information that is provided with a new Osprey pack.

What do I do if I just need a replacement pack part like a buckle?
Give Osprey a call at 866-314-3130 and they will take care of you.

How long will it take?
You can tell Osprey you need the pack returned by a certain date when you request a Return Authorization number, and they will do their absolute best to meet that deadline.

What if my pack is super dirty and stinks?
Clean it before you send it to Osprey to get repaired. The real reason is that there is a law that says if your gear is too dirty or odiferous (smelly), Osprey is not allowed to repair it and will just return it to you.

Do I have to pay for shipping?
A little bit. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the pack to Osprey, and they will pay shipping to return the pack via UPS or FedEx. Osprey cannot be held responsible if packages get lost in transit, so make sure you get a tracking number when you ship your pack out. Also, if you use expedited shipping be sure to let Osprey know (866-314-3130). They, in turn, will give your pack priority processing and return it using a similar expedited shipping method.

Do I have to register my pack to take advantage of this incredible guarantee, and/or need to be the original owner of my Osprey pack?
No! Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee is truly ALL MIGHTY. If you own an Osprey pack that needs to be repaired they will repair or replace it.

JUST A HEADS UP: If your Osprey product is not repairable and is replaced, the original product will not be returned to you. They will try really really hard to repair your pack, but if they are unable to make a functional repair, they will replace it. For products that are no longer in production you will be contacted by Osprey to discuss replacement options.

All good answers. So what is NOT covered?
• Osprey program packs or any Osprey pack used by outdoor programs are ONLY covered under Osprey's Program Pack Warranty, NOT AMG.
• Size and/or fit issues. Make sure you buy a pack that fits. Check out the size guide on Osprey product pages for more info.
• Personal preferences like colors you don't like, style of the pack, or not enough/too much room in your pack. Check the product description, features, specifications, and size guide to make sure you are ordering the right pack for you.
• Third party Repairs or replacements. Send your Osprey pack to Osprey and Osprey only to get fixed. Easy as that. And don't try fixing things yourself.
• Cosmetic wear and tear including any reasonable aging of your pack that affects only the appearance and not the function of your pack. Be proud of those scars!
• B.A.M.G. (Before All Mighty Guarantee) Repair Work. The All Mighty Guarantee applies only to repairs requested on or after January 1, 2009.
• A Osprey Hydraulics reservoir is covered by a limited 1-year warranty, which is the reasonable lifespan of a reservoir. Pouring and storing of warm/hot or boiling water in your reservoir WILL VOID your warranty, so don't do that. Reservoirs are NOT designed to contain or handle liquids at temperature.
