The Osprey Daylite Plus Pack is a small backpack for short adventures. This is the slightly bigger brother of the Daylite pack, coming at you with 20L of space. It carries more and offers a touch more comfort in the mesh and foam shoulder straps than the little brother does. Stuff a ultralight rain jacket in between the pack and the compression panel, for quick access while on the go. A small accessory zipper pocket stores passport or some cash, while the larger accessory pocket up top carries sunglasses and snacks with ease. Fill the main compartment with hydration reservoir (not included), an extra layer and anything else you might need on your quick adventure, on trail or around the town.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

FEATURES of the Osprey Daylite Plus Pack

  • Panel Load Access: Large panel loading main compartment provides accessibility to inside contents
  • Side Mesh Pockets: Dual stretch mesh side pockets provide additional storage options
  • Front Pocket: The front zippered pocket with mesh organizer and key clip offers organizations for smaller items
  • Interior Sleeve: The multi-function interior sleeve can be used for either a Osprey Hydraulics reservoir or tablet
  • Comfortable Backpanel: Mesh-covered die-cut foam backpanel provides both comfort and ventilation
  • Interior Sleeve: Use the multi-function interior sleeve for either an Osprey Hydraulics reservoir or a tablet
  • Front Panel Shove-It Pocket: Great for stashing a light rain shell and other smaller items
  • Front Panel Stash Pocket: Vertical zippered front pocket with key clip and room for small items

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quality daypack; some preference issues I bought this pack primarily because I was looking for something high quality that wouldn't fall apart after a couple uses. This one definitely meets that criterion! The second appeal was the large compartment on the outside that will fit my 32oz Hydro Flask. Most other packs I looked at would have required me to put it in the main compartment. Another benefit is the padded back so it's not uncomfortable. Now I wouldn't say I dislike this pack, but I probably wouldn't buy it again just due to personal preference. The number one thing I would change is the fact that the pack doesn't have a flat bottom and therefore cannot stand up on its own. This is extra frustrating when you have a water bottle in one of the outside pockets. I should also mention - if you put a water bottle in one of the mesh pockets (which is what I imagine they are there for), the elastic is so loose that the bottle will fall out if you bend over or the bag falls over on the ground, which it will. Not really an ideal design. Additionally (I feel this is just me being a bit nit-picky but it may also bother others), the shoulder straps have clips on them that will rub your arms during regular arm use, not doing anything crazy. This may not be an issue for some but it became irritating when wearing the pack for an extended period (~8 hours). Tl;dr - This pack is high quality and will offer overall comfort for those looking for padded backs, but it may cause frustration when it comes to carrying water bottles or other items in the outside pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and light. Beautiful blue. Light weight nylon with plenty of pockets. Good shoulder straps and includes a small waist belt. Not too big but not too small either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size This is our second Daylite Plus! My boyfriend bought his 6 months ago and said it was perfect for his month in India. (He's good at minimal traveling.) I borrowed his pack for a 5 day trip to NYC during cool weather months (so a few more clothes and an extra pair of shoes) and it rocked. I LOVE that it's "personal item" size so it saves me money on flights. It has plenty of pockets and compartments for superb organization and even mesh pockets on the outside for a water bottle, a banana or two, or whatever you want within easy reach. I'm really quite amazed how much this pack holds!!! Long story short, I had to have my own so I bought one in the gorgeous red color. It's beautiful and worked spectacularly on my recent 8 day trip to California. I do pack light as well, but never do I go without what I really want to bring. :D P.S. We also own the Osprey Porter 45 & 30. We really like the quality and usability of Osprey products. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Packs My wife and I each received a Daylight Plus Pack with hydration bladder as part of a package from the company that organized our 12 day tour of Israel. These packs were amazing, useful, durable, lightweight and comfortable. From our tour group of fifty there were no complaints. I particularly liked the rubberized zipper pulls and would love to have similar zipper pulls on other packs of mine whose pulls are failing, falling off, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit Bought this as a laptop bag for work and it is perfect. Holds my Thinkpad, mouse, power supply, notebooks, drinks and snacks for the day. Very comfortable and well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great support I bought Daylite Plus Pack about a month ago because I found my back aching from my classic Jansport bag. The Osprey back ended up providing far more support and comfort with its structural design, and I have loved it ever since.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Surprising Find I am not a minimalist but a "functionalist" when it comes to gear. I wanted something to carry incidentals on short hikes with the dogs or a pack around town. Front pockets give me quick access to keys, wallet, phone (or extra poop bags). Enough cargo room to carry extra shirt, towel, whatever. Pleasantly surprised to see this bag works with add-on water bladders, which are well designed. Only real complaints are side mesh pockets are too shallow for water bottles (when not using the water bladder) and pack feels a bit narrow when putting on (for those of us with broader shoulders). Good price point, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the right size It has just enough space for your one day adventures. Fits comfortably on my 6 foot 3 inch skinny frame. I carried this for 62 miles over 21 hours along the C & O canal path and it was exactly what I needed. Very pleased with this purchase.

I'm going to Portugal in June & want a lightweight backpack, I'm torn between the Daylite or should I get the Daylight Plus.

Asked by: Teddy55
Hiya Teddy55, thanks for your question! The Daylite Plus doesn't appear to be very different from the original Daylite pack but it is a completely new pack. The Daylite Plus has 20 liters of volume, which is notably larger than the other 13-liter pack. Other than the difference in volume, the Daylite Plus has a shove-it pocket which attaches to the sides of the pack through dual buckles and side straps. There is also a extra pocket on the the front. The advantages of the original Daylite Pack are that it is less complicated, less weight and less in price. Hope this helps!

Osprey Daylite Plus Pack

Size One Size
Torso Range 15 - 22 / 38 - 56 cm
Volume / Pack Capacity 20 liters / 1220 cubic inches
Dimensions 18 x 10 x 9 in.
Weight 1 lbs

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size the pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate.

HOW to MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size chart above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW to MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelt size info above to help determine your ideal pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

ALL MIGHTY GUARANTEE - Osprey's Lifetime Warranty

When Osprey celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2009 they launched The Osprey All Mighty Guarantee. What that means to you is ANY Osprey product purchased at ANY time is covered. Any product, any reason, any era - the all encompassing Osprey lifetime warranty ensures their dedication to superior design, craftsmanship and quality of their products is backed up by their actions to replace or repair a pack so it lasts a lifetime. Or two.

Here are some details.... Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in their products, whether it was purchased back in 1974, or ordered right now from this site. If they are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, they will happily replace it. Osprey proudly stands behind the All Mighty Guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer.

Some Osprey All Mighty Guarantee FAQs:

What do I do if my Osprey pack needs to be repaired?
If you live in the United States and need a repair done on your Osprey pack, you will first need to obtain a Return Authorization number. You can do this by reaching their Returns Department at 866-314-3130, or using the information that is provided with a new Osprey pack.

What do I do if I just need a replacement pack part like a buckle?
Give Osprey a call at 866-314-3130 and they will take care of you.

How long will it take?
You can tell Osprey you need the pack returned by a certain date when you request a Return Authorization number, and they will do their absolute best to meet that deadline.

What if my pack is super dirty and stinks?
Clean it before you send it to Osprey to get repaired. The real reason is that there is a law that says if your gear is too dirty or odiferous (smelly), Osprey is not allowed to repair it and will just return it to you.

Do I have to pay for shipping?
A little bit. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the pack to Osprey, and they will pay shipping to return the pack via UPS or FedEx. Osprey cannot be held responsible if packages get lost in transit, so make sure you get a tracking number when you ship your pack out. Also, if you use expedited shipping be sure to let Osprey know (866-314-3130). They, in turn, will give your pack priority processing and return it using a similar expedited shipping method.

Do I have to register my pack to take advantage of this incredible guarantee, and/or need to be the original owner of my Osprey pack?
No! Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee is truly ALL MIGHTY. If you own an Osprey pack that needs to be repaired they will repair or replace it.

JUST A HEADS UP: If your Osprey product is not repairable and is replaced, the original product will not be returned to you. They will try really really hard to repair your pack, but if they are unable to make a functional repair, they will replace it. For products that are no longer in production you will be contacted by Osprey to discuss replacement options.

All good answers. So what is NOT covered?
• Osprey program packs or any Osprey pack used by outdoor programs are ONLY covered under Osprey's Program Pack Warranty, NOT AMG.
• Size and/or fit issues. Make sure you buy a pack that fits. Check out the size guide on Osprey product pages for more info.
• Personal preferences like colors you don't like, style of the pack, or not enough/too much room in your pack. Check the product description, features, specifications, and size guide to make sure you are ordering the right pack for you.
• Third party Repairs or replacements. Send your Osprey pack to Osprey and Osprey only to get fixed. Easy as that. And don't try fixing things yourself.
• Cosmetic wear and tear including any reasonable aging of your pack that affects only the appearance and not the function of your pack. Be proud of those scars!
• B.A.M.G. (Before All Mighty Guarantee) Repair Work. The All Mighty Guarantee applies only to repairs requested on or after January 1, 2009.
• A Osprey Hydraulics reservoir is covered by a limited 1-year warranty, which is the reasonable lifespan of a reservoir. Pouring and storing of warm/hot or boiling water in your reservoir WILL VOID your warranty, so don't do that. Reservoirs are NOT designed to contain or handle liquids at temperature.
