I put about 400 days on my first jacket over the course of two years guiding and recreating. I used this jacket everywhere from ski touring, to big wall climbing in Zion National Park to guiding on Denali in Alaska. It sheds snow, blocks most the wind and breaths. The pit-zips and mesh lined pockets allow you to vent and dump heat if you're working too hard, and if you zip everything up and put the hood on it keeps you warm and cozy. The high collar and scuba style hood make it awesome for skiing and alpine climbing. the hood fits under a helmet on super cold days and the high collar protects your neck and chin from wind and cold. The pockets are also big enough to fit a large pair of climbing skins in. My skis are 102mm underfoot and 179cm long and the skins fit in the pockets no problem. I love this jacket so much I got another one this year, my original is still holding strong but now I have one for winter and one for summer! I am a full time, year-round mountain guide and a member of the Ortovox North American team I received this gear to test and use.
