Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept me off of the ground I bought this for a backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon. I read the reviews and decided on this pad. Everyone was telling me that the super light weight pads are real noisy when you move at night. This is the first time I tried this type of pad. The pad worked perfect. It did not make any more noise than my sleeping bag. (I roll around a lot when I am sleeping.) The pad was comfortable. My partner bought a different pad and she did not sleep well the first couple of nights. I ended up letting her take my pad and I used hers. She had a great nights rest while I tried to get comfortable. I am heading back to the Grand Canyon again for 4 more days and I know I will sleep well. My partner decided to get rid of her sleeping pad and get a Nemo as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Comfortable I am in my 60's so packing as light as I can is important. However, getting a good nights sleep on the trial is also important so a comfortable sleeping system for me is a must. I have tried narrower sleeping pads to save weight but they just didn't give me enough room to move so I wanted a 25 inch pad. I have used a few other 25 inch air-pads but the Nemo Tensor 25 is the lightest and the most comfortable that I have found. I recently took it on a 6 day hike from Echo Lake, CA to Truckee, CA and it worked great and it was very comfortable. I am a side sleeper and I never had a problem with my hip or any other part of my body digging into the ground. I also use a quilt and the Tensor's insulating properties kept my bottom side warm even though the temperature in the Sierras in late September dipped into the 30's. I have heard comments that this is a "noisy" pad. I had no issue with noise and my trail companion didn't mention it either. Finally, it was really easy to get the air out of this pad and get it back in the stuff sack. I can 't say that about some of the other air-pads I have tried. If you are concerned about your base weight but you don't want to sacrifice comfort, you need to give Tensor 25 a try.

There is only one weight specification listed for the Nemo Tensor 25 Sleeping Pad. What is the weight for the 76" x 25" x 3" pad? What is the weight for the 72" x 25" x 3" pad? Thanks.

What is the R value for this pad?

Asked by: PWing
Hey PWing! So, Nemo does not abide by the R-value rating system. Until the testing is truly standardized, they opt out of field testing to provide those results. They rely on their own ways and provide the minimum comfort level rating based on their own results (field testers, employees, etc). So the Tensor 25 would be extreme comfort level of 25 degrees. If you had to have an R rating - you could put it around 30-40 Degrees F, but that is not an R-rating provided by Nemo themselves, so take that with a grain of salt.

I want to make sure this model is the wide regular before purchasing. This item should be the rectangular regular length which should be 72 x 25. But in your spec sheet it says 72 x 20. That is the regular width model. Can you confirm size please.

Asked by: Willp808
Thanks for the question! The Tensor 25 comes in two rectangular lengths - Regular & Long. I do not have a "Wide" version. The Regular size measures at 72 x 25 x 3 inches and the Long measures at 76 x 25 inches x 3". I will get that corrected on the product page. Sorry for the confusion!
