The Nemo Hornet Elite 2P Tent is a one pound, 12 ounce tent for ultralight backpacking. Dual doors, dual vestibules and fits two people. A whole lotta mesh not only helps drop the weight, but allows a breeze to flow, assuming there is one, of course. I certainly hope there is one for your sake, come mid-summer. Inside the tent you each have a mesh pocket for storing small items off the floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best UL Free Standing After trying out several other ultralight freestanding tents with less-than-flattering results and reading several blogs stating how well the Hornet performs; I had to try it out. First, what a difference going from a one person to a two person tent was and the sole reason I had a one person was trail weight. But, the Hornet's light weight comes in very close to one person tents and delivers more value. I made my own UL footprint - so the total weight is just at 2lbs. The tent is easy for one person to install/take down; has very good lightweight stakes (w/pull tabs); two generous vestibules; interior pockets (one on the ceiling that's perfect for using a headlamp for night reading); and it takes up little space in a pack. I've tried it in the Smokies and along the AT in Virginia for a few seasons now and am glad to have found a perfect tent that's not the lightest UL tent out there; but is light enough for those not wanting the expense and, at times, frustration with other very lightweight tents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So light ! The tent is design in USA and made in China. So light, its hard to believe this could actually be a shelter for two... but it is ! Of course, the material is thin an one must be carefull when using the product. But in the end, this is exactly what I was looking for (couldnt find it in Canada). Thanks to MooseJaw !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic tent for the weight. Used this trip on a hundred mile section of the CDT in Colorado. It saw hail, rain, and frost. Great tent of the weight. Small enough footprint to sneak it in the tight camp spots. The only downside is the stuff sack, a little too weak for the job. But when I tore it, Nemo Customer service shipped new a new one pronto.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well designed tent, except for the No See Um Mesh Purchased this tent for the John Muir Trail. The tent is warm and very livable for the size. I like it way more than the BA Fly Creek Platinum 2 I had. Unfortunately, the No See Um mesh used is not very durable. On night 22 of the trip, the mesh failed leaving a hole at one of the guy line points. Other annoyances are the color and door toggles. Personally, I like the yellow, but so does every bug in the campsite! There will be a constant swarm of gnats and mosquitos hanging out on the rain fly usually. The door toggles need larger loops. It is quite difficult to release the door once you are in the tent. This becomes more of a problem when there is a swarm of hungry Sierra Nevada mosquitos eager to get into the tent! Finally, the rain fly material is quite thin and the zipper always gets jammed by the seam over the zipper track. Unlike other tents, the ultralight 7D fly material must be treated carefully when freeing the zipper. Completely ignoring the material failure, I would give this tent a solid 4 stars since it is well designed, livable, and light weight. Given the choice, I would opt for the non-elite version of the hornet 2p. The weight savings is not worth the poor durability of the ultralight no see um mesh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Tent I bought this tent for the use in the backcountry. I used it on a 21 day Backpacking Expedition and it did great! It survived the elements perfectly, and made no impact on the weight of my pack for it is crazy light! I enjoyed every moment sleeping in it! Definitely recommend this tent if you are looking for an extreme light tough tent!
