Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.
Are you Sure?
Our Rewards Program is completely FREE and easy to use.
By opting out, you forfeit all the Moosejaw Rewards Dollars your currently have in your account, which is basically throwing away free money. What would your grandmother say about that? If you're 100% sure, please click "OptOut" below.
We want to make extra-sure you realize that you've added a special order item to your cart. These items take a little longer to get to you because we have to order from the manufacturer first. The "Est. Ship Date" is the date we expect items to leave our warehouse... so add your chosen shipping speed to see when it will show up at your door.
The Mystery Ranch Sphinx Pack is a lightweight backpack for overnights, weekends, and even a week on the backcountry trails. The main entry point is from the top, but a centralized, vertical zipper allows you to access your gear, without having to dig from the top. Just what is necessary for when you need only your stove at lunch and don't wish to unpack the whole kit and caboodle. Smaller items that also require quick access can be placed within the vertical torpedo pockets or the top lid. Remove the hipbelt on lightly loaded, super-fast overnights but be sure to buckle up when the load reaches capacity to get the most use and comfort out of the Adventure Frame. Attach ice axes or trekking poles to the front and toss water bottles into the side pockets, or carry your hydration reservoir within the pack.
Feature of the Mystery Ranch Sphinx Pack
Top Loading design for easy packing
Two vertical long pockets for external organization
Water bottle pockets keep hydration handy
Hydration reservoir compatible
Double Wrap waist belt is removable

Awesome - waited 17 years for this!I bought a Dana Design Sluiskin 45 in 2001, and have used it for about 200 nights of short camping trips. That bag has/had one serious flaw - a long narrow tube design with a constrictive top opening - but it held up perfectly and I never replaced it because of how amazing the suspension is. The designer of that bag started a new company several years ago, with offering for hikers, hunters, and military and paramedic types. I took a chance on this based on a good sale and the shared designer and lucked out -- it is probably the definition of a perfect overnight pack.
The suspension is very comfortable; I have had this out for three trips now, and on uneven ground and with loads of about 50 lbs, this pack is rock steady, transmitting weight neatly to the hips with no strain on the bag. The big advantage over my previous pack is the zip down the middle. Hiking with a family, you are never sure what will be needed next, so to be able to pick things out in any order is an unbelievable advantage. Finally, the tube pockets on the outside provide one more layer of convenience. I can put my hard shell in one, and my hammock, straps, and bug net in the other, so for either a quick nap or a quick weather change, it is super easy. The hydration system holder is great also; nicely made to stop the inevitable squish to the bottom of the pack, and with great tube holders on the shoulders.
This pack would be an expensive, once-in-a-lifetime purchase that I would agonize over but never regret at several hundred dollars more than I ended up paying.

supports a lot of weight for its sizeI lead a back country trail crew, so i got this pack to hold tools, camp gear and personal stuff. The pack holds way more than the 65 liters it's sized as, and I've consistently carried 60+ pounds through rough terrain fairly comfortably. Plus, so far, it's held up well to the inevitable abuse.

AMAZING!Amazing pack! This is probably the closest pack to a perfect SAR 72 hr pack. I know MR makes a 3Dap (which I love and have carried 50lbs in mine with relative comfort) but the volume is not enough for a true 72hr sar pack when your area is the high Rockies. We have to be able to spend the night in a very cold high altitude environment no matter the time of year and at the same time be able to support an individual who has lost all their gear.  When considering this and adding cold weather clothing, a 0° sleeping bag, a stove and a WFR medical kit to your bag you quickly find you need more than 32 liters.   That's where the Sphinx shines. 70 liter total volume and the lid works perfectly for my med kit and it's a bomber pack. Fits great, carries great due to the futura frame, and isn't too big to be put on a helicopter when we get a quick ride up the mountain.  And it will work amazing for week long backpacking trips. I prefer minimum amounts of gear personally.  So, I didn't qualify for MR's pro deal as a SAR tech but I think it shows how much I like their stuff that I went ahead and payed retail for the Sphinx. Could have gone with half a dozen other packs via sites like outdoor prolink but I feel that Mystery Ranch products are head and shoulders above the rest in all areas and I am very happy I went this route.  Some great features: â˘Huge hip belt pockets! â˘The outer torpedo pockets are great for quick grab items and hold a bunch. â˘Full length front zipper. Makes this top loader a breeze to find stuff in. â˘Hydration ready. It's a must for SAR work. â˘Very robust fabric. â˘Load lifters work amazing. â˘Adjustable yoke makes the fit spot on. â˘Ice axe, tekking pole holders Only two cons if I had to come up with something: â˘For SAR work, a bright yellow/green color or blaze orange would be cool â˘A few more attachment points for lashing on extra gear when we need to bring up team gear That's it, 5 stars amazing pack.

AmazingVery easy to carry everything in; I like how you can lay it flat and open it right up like a suitcase! Also I really like the color selection and that it fits me perfectly.

Great comfort and load carryThis pack's suspension with and hip belt are very honed in. As a result it is comfortable even with heavier loads, and feels like part of your body. Just the right amount of pockets for organization and I love the front zipper that gives me full access to my entire bag, even down to the bottom of the bag when fully loaded. The bag is tough and you don't have to worry about light materials ripping or failing. Yet it isn't much heavier than lesser lighter weight bags. the tradeoff of some extra weight is matched by spot on support and comfort.

The Best Multiday Pack. Period.Been backpacking since the '70s and have owned just about every pack out there. The internal frame revolution brought discomfort and awkwardness, but we embraced it because it was "better". I've been through several internal frame packs over the years and hated them all. They either dig into my boney hips and cut off circulation to my legs or they make my shoulders hurt. And they are never convenient to pack. Along comes Mystery Ranch and I've found the ultimate pack. The harness system distributes weight properly and is easy to adjust for a precise fit. No circulation cutoff, no shoulder pain, just right. And they're bombproof and easy to pack. The revolutionary center zip is truly useful. I liked my Sphinx so well that I went out and bought a Scree and a Ravine. Done - just refreshed my packs and put all my others on the auction block. My only sadness is that I really can't justify buying any more packs by Mystery Ranch. This Sphinx is the load master. 35lbs, 40lbs - carries it well. Sure, you'll feel the extra weight, but no pinch points, no cutoff of circulation. I can't say enough good things about the design and comfort. And hey, the little waist belt pockets are actually useful - you can carry more than just a few gummy bears in them.

Perfect for Colorado's HutsHaving been into most of the 10th Mountain Division huts in the past 25 years, and being a relative gear minimalist, this one has hit the sweet spot. A) if you take too much gear, then you can lash things on, stuff under lids, or secure with existing straps with little to no wobble. B) if you take too little gear, this compresses down nicely, with no wobble, and will still hold the ever-necessary shovels on the outside or inside, plus bulky camera gear, plus all that gourmet food (and sleeping bags). C) super comfortable, super adjustable, even on the fly. D) I have even lashed on another pack to the back of this one (desperate times call for desperate solutions) and comfortably carried way too much gear. E) buy it and enjoy with impunity.

Love The Sphinx!I've rocked the Osprey Volt, The Aether and even tried my hand at some other packs. But after buying and using the Sphinx, I'll never look anywhere else. You can just feel the quality of materials and strength of the fabric and zippers on this pack. I'm 6'3 and about 190lbs with a torso size in between 22-23" and the XL is absolutely PERFECT for me. The adjustment is easy to do and dial in. I cannot say enough good things about this pack. I've had it on my wishlist for the past year, and just recently made the decision and purchased it. That was the best decision ever. I cannot wait to put thousands of miles on this bad boy! Thanks Mystery Ranch!!
