The MSR PocketRocket 2 Stove is a redesign of a tiny original. It doesn't just weigh less at 2.6 ounces, but it packs smaller as well. The result is it's barely noticeable when packed into your pot or mug, giving you extra space for that weird luxury item you just HAD to have. Fire up the stove and the pot supports will hold onto a wider range of pots and kettles as the water boils in just 3.5 minutes (for 1 liter). Dinner is ready and come morning the tea will be hot.

FEATURES of the MSR PocketRocket 2 Stove

  • Keeping pack weight to the absolute minimum
  • New folding pot supports pack exceptionally small
  • Stove with case fits inside MSR Titan Mug
  • Boils 1 liter of water in just 3.5 minutes
  • New robust pot supports accommodate a wider range of pot sizes
  • Ultralight hard-shell carry case to protect cookware and contents of pack

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small, light, powerful, packable. This is a great product for what it is and does a good job. I like design, pot supports and how it packs. Cons: The only thing I do not like about my stove is aluminum tread. It is way softer then competitors brass. I went to the store and tried to screw it onto canister with extra power applied or wrong angle. In just a few tries I was able to get shavings of aluminum. All competitors offer brass treat which is way stronger and in my test didn't get any damage (same applies to MSR Reactor and Windburner that comes with brass tread). So I can see how this part of the stove has potential to fail if you are not careful. I am not planning on replacing my stove and just will use it more carefully but if I was on the market I would probably consider competitor for a few more bucks and a few more grams (and as a added bonus pressure regulator).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I am using it for hiking, trekking and ski touring. I used to use the MSR pocket rocket V1 for 4 years before buying the V2. I never had any trouble with it. After 4 months of using the new version, the upper part made to avoid the flame to be blown got off. I think it it due the metal dilatation with the heat. After taking care of not loosing this part for a while I finaly did in the sand of beach in Iceland. This kind of piece of gear are supposed to be designed and engineered to be reliable. To my experience, it is not.. I have looked on the MSR website to find the spare part but I can not find it. Too bad! Thanks, Bertrand

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Redesign The redesigned pocket rocket is not sturdy at all. The arms of the stove come loose and even if you tighten them with an allen wrench they do not tighten making it unsturdy to keep your pot on. If you need something light and don't use it very often this might be a good stove for you, but if you plan on using it regularly and need something to last you a long time I would consider a different stove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't go wrong I used this tiny stove this past weekend on a rainy overnight backpack in W WA. While only at 3,400 feet this trip, the stove worked like a charm. Lights easy, burns furiously and boils water fast. For the price, size/weight and performance, it's unbeatable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mind-Blowing I bought this because my friend brought it on one of our camping trips and it blew my mind. She literally pulled it out of her pocket, so it's name is very fitting. Now whenever I take it out around someone who has never seen it before, they're like, "really?? That thing is a stove?!" and I'm like "Heck yeah it is." It boils water really fast and is incredibly easy to use. I definitely am sure to keep an eye on it because sometimes I worry about it tipping over, especially if setting it on a slightly uneven surface. But I'm sure you all know the wise words of Smokey Bear: "Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires" so I think that's kinda common sense, but you never know. I'm really impatient, especially in the morning, so I love being about to whip this thing out and have hot coffee within a couple minutes. If you want a small, powerful stove, this thing is the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Lightweight without Sacrificing Anything Best stove for the money. Super Lightweight. Folds up small. Boils super fast. The only thing it is lacking is an ignition but you can buy one for cheap. Would def recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small light and powerful Found out why they call them pocket rockets. Sound like one. A little noisy on high but like how they adjust from next to nothing to roaring flame.

Does this come with fuel?

Asked by: DerWaifu
Hey DerWaifu! No fuel canister is included with the Pocket Rocket 2. Your package deliverers politely requested that we and others NOT ship fuel. Seriously, though, due to strict shipping regulations, we do not / can not ship canister fuel. You will have to source that locally!
