The MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2-Person Tent is a ultralight tent for three season backpacking. The NX stands for NEXT, the next generation of the Hubba series, as it has been redesigned for 2014. The three pounds and seven ounces of the Hubba Hubba NX is the lowest weight yet, as well as offering two different fast and light modes when combined with the optional footprint. Whatever it takes to give your back respite on the trail. The color coded webbing makes for a quick and easy set up so you can clamber inside to enjoy plenty of head and shoulder room due to the symmetrical pole geometry and non-tapered floor. The two large vestibules leaves room for your gear and a friend's, with StayDry entry provided by built-in rain gutters on the rain fly. The MSR team added plenty of venting options to aid in the war against condensation, just roll up the vestibule from the bottom, open the kickstand side vents, or sleep through the night sans-vestibule. The mesh will protect you from pesky bugs. Rise early and pack up camp in a flash with the wide mouth stuff sack, cinching it tight with the attached compression straps.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick set up/tear down This tent is awesome. The first time I took it out of the box I was able to set it up and tear it down in under 5 minutes. Order a person size up from the number that will be sleeping in it for additional gear space. Light weight and good looking. Durability has yet to be tested.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I thought it would be! After doing much research and reading I decided to go with the Hubba Hubba NX 2 Person Tent, I was not disappointed! First two times out hiking sections on the PCT here in Washington it was miserable, rain, fog and wind. I was amazed with the lack of condensation (zero) inside the tent. Easy to assemble as well as take down. I purchased the footprint for an added layer of protection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and easy to set up. Great backpacking tent. Perfect combination of functionality and light weight. Holds up well in storms. Better for use as a single person tent but big enough for two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MSR - Need I say more? I purchased this tent because I did my homework and it turned out to be everything I expected. My seven days in the BWCA were a wonderful experience and this tent performed great. I wish there was a neutral color option, but the red has grown on me. I love the bag it comes in verses stuffing it into a sack that's too small. MSR has brought another great product to the market!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent I took this tent with me on a cross country camping trip and was very satisfied about it's performance. It setup and broke down incredibly easily, and packed down well use after use. Would definitely recommend this tent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, strong and versatile Had the chance to finally get the Hubba Hubba out and onto a pack and on the trail this last weekend and was very impressed. In the past I have used different tents from different major outdoor retailers and have always found certain trade offs between weight, functionality and versatility that never really added up in the right way. The Hubba Hubba makes me re-think that formula as it checked off all the boxes in the right order. First off this thing is strong! It pitched fast and easily, and is incredibly rigid for a 3-season tent given its weight. The craftsmanship is stellar and materials justify the cost. You can find a lighter tent in the market but if you are truly looking for a do-it-all tent and ultra lighting is not your style, the extra ounces versus its competition is well worth the security this tent will add in terms of thermal protection and stability during that bad windstorm or unexpected snow you may encounter on a trip into the backcountry. The ventilation on the tent was great. On the most recent trip I took one night was in the 40s and breezy, but stayed warm without problem with the doors closed and eave vents open. The next night was in the 70s and humid. The part I really enjoyed with the Hubba Hubba was the option to have half the fly off to open the mesh but still keep the other half in place to provide privacy and allow for quickly pulling the fly into place in case of the sudden rainstorm. With the advent of newer designs and lightweight materials the tent market feels like its on a race to the bottom of the scale but that may not always serve you the best especially in the backcountry when shelter is security. After this experience I'd gladly take the Hubba Hubba into the wild in 3.5 seasons without hesitation. And as you can tell by the pictures below, the cats agree too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super quick set up Bought this about a month ago and am super excited to use it! I've set it up a bunch to get used to it and I can get it up in about 4 minutes, and the take down is quick to. The oversized carry bag is awesome too because you're not spending time trying to fit it in a tiny bag! The weight is good. I've taken it on some day hikes to try and get the feel for it. There are lighter options out there, but I would make the sane purchase again, it's a great tent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Peasy I bought this in preparation for a vacation out west and also for the occasional music festival down the road. It was super easy to set up and very spacious. As advertised. Imho, anyone who has ever set up a tent, or seen a tent, or perhaps just heard of a tent by rough description will have no trouble with it at all. Midway through my vacation I ended up with four stitches in the palm of one hand and I still had no trouble making and breaking camp without help. It was also really wind resistant. We didn't see much in the way of rain, but there were a couple of really cold, windy nights--26 degrees F at Mather one night. My friend, who was in a consistently well-reviewed tent by a certain co-op, had to go sleep in the car that night, but I was toasty in my Kelty Cosmic Down 20 and this little guy. Ftr, I'm a middle-aged lady who tends to sleep cold.

What tent stakes come with tent?

Asked by: Mark
Hiya Mark, thanks for your question! MSR uses a couple different source locations for manufacturing their products, including stakes. Depending on where the tent was manufactured, it should include either the mini groundhog or needle stakes. Both options are good quality. Hope this helps!

What are the real-world floor dimensions of this tent?

Asked by: Amy1
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! FINALLY, asking for real-world dimensions, thank you! I am so sick and tired of measuring length by parrot-beaks and width by angst. Thank you sir. You're the hero we need. So, the length by width for this will be 84 x 50" and the inside height will be 39". Hope this helps you out!! Hugsies.

Would this be considered an appropriate tent for winter camping in climates like Michigan?

Asked by: makula11
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us. You bring up an excellent question. This tent is actually a three-season, meaning that it's good for Spring, Summer and Fall. It's not recommended that you use this one for Winter, especially here in Michigan! I would suggest checking out some Four-season tents. I'd check out the MSR Fury 2 Person Tent or even the MSR Dragontail 2 Person Tent. Both are solid tents.
