Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not ready for use out of the box. Haven't used the tent yet, as it does not come ready for use. You must purchase other items to be able to effectively use it. The worst part is Mountain Hardwear won't sell you the required additional items. Those will have to be sourced elsewhere. As for the tent, I was able to set up just the tent body. It is very similar sized to my old tent, which I consider a 1-person tent. The tent is very light and packs small! I think I will really like it and it should work well for my adventures. Main issue: Tent has 3 guyline points, but only 2 guylines are provided. There are only enough stakes to set up the tent. So even though 2 guylines are provided, you can't use them anyway as there are no stakes for them. So out of the box, just don't camp in the wind!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 28 days one tent I've used this tent 28 days on a section hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in Washington State, USA. I don't think there is a better tent for one person. You *can* fit two but I wouldn't plan to do that. I would be willing to cram someone else in if there's an emergency. But it doesn't fit two 25" wide pads side by side, which is my measure for a true 2p tent vs a 1+p masquerading as a 2p. It performed very well as a 2lb tent for 1++. I could sit up fully while facing my pad in either direction and not worry about bumping my tent mesh into the fly. I will continue to use this as my primary tent when backpacking alone and I don't really see myself changing anytime soon. That being said, I do see some room for improvement. First, the semi-freestanding tent needs 8-9 stakes without guylines. If you staked out all three guylines, you'd have to use 12 stakes. Whoa! for 1/2 oz stakes, like MSR groundhogs, that adds 6 oz. However, I usually only use 8, leaving the center foot unstaked. The tent comes with 9 DAC j-type, which work well and are lightweight. I use them for the rainfly sides. Also, the interior pocket opening is at a 45 deg angle and stuff just falls out. Suff also falls out of the headliner pocket. I'm not sure why they couldn't make a pocket more upright or with a tighter opening. The mesh door when opened will supposedly be held by the pocket, but doesn't. It'll fall down at the slightest puff of wind or light tap. Furthermore, the undyed rainfly is a problem as it shows all mud or dirt immediately and doesn't wash out. So you end up with a dirty wash water colored fly. Additionally, the fly has zero vents and I had huge amounts of condensation pretty much every single day. However, it did not get inside the double wall design most of the time. The nylon fly did sag a lot with either condensation or rain and rarely touched the tent. I will not be buying another tent with a nylon rainfly. Sil-poly is the future for me. I would have appreciated vents to prevent the sagging and also because drying it out before packing it up was a pain and sometimes impossible. The loop-onto-pole clip design was interesting but required great dexterity, which could be difficult in cold weather. However, this design also allowed better packing of the tent if you store your poles separately as you could be pretty aggressive with your flattening of the fly and tent as there is no hardware other than a single zipper. Most of this is nitpicking a very good design. The only design problem that gives me pause in repurchasing is the 9-12 stake design. It not only adds extra weight but has a fairly complicated and long setup process similar to some trekking pole tents. I'm used to it now, but it is still fiddly, especially in cold or wet weather, and doesn't have a fly-first set-up option. That being said my tent is still in perfect working order after basically living in it for a month while moving every day. It packs down easily and I'm extremely comfortable in my roomy palace compared to a lot of other hikers with 1p tents weighing a similar amount. I expect that it will continue to be my favorite tent for solo backpacking for a few years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from spacious enough for two My friend and I used this tent for a backpacking trip and we both loved how lightweight and easy it was to set up. We're both short, so could keep our packs inside by our feet but when we wanted a little wiggle room, the two vestibules were great to have. I was a little concerned about getting a two person tent for two, but I feel like this one doesn't lie. I highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for One, Works for Two Very light for a semi-freestanding tent and the storage inside in better than I would expect! This is spacious one-person, but it's not very comfortable with two people. As someone who gets up to pee 1-2 times per night, I'm grateful my husband doesn't mind getting bonked with my feet in the middle of the night ;). For shorter trips we'll probably continue to take our double vestibule tent, but this works well for trips where we're trying to save on weight a bit more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent Love this tent. Have taken it on two 4 day trips so far and it has provided everything I need. I love the 2.5 lb weight. We had some solid rain on one trip and it held up perfectly . Easy quick assembly. The shape is perfect. Super high quality materials. I wouldn’t change anything .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick, easy, and lightweight Been using this as my main tent for about 8 months, I've used it on river trips, overnight, and backpacking. It's a great tent, easy to set up (by the 3rd time I had the hang of it no problem) and provides great protection in rain and wind. It does get dirty pretty easy being white, and the space is tight. If you had two people in there, you'd have to keep bags outside, and you'd be touching the whole night. I'm 5'10" 170lbs, and this fits me. My gear, and 2 40lb dogs perfectly. I'd definitely get this tent over the UL1 just for the added room

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome lightweight tent! Took this tent for 18 days on the John Muir Trail (what I bought it for) and it's my go-to backpacking tent. I'm very pleased with it and have no regrets with my purchase. Highlights: - Super lightweight! (My 2p tent was similar weight to other 1p tents of the same class on the market!) - Withstood 4 days of nonstop thunder/rain - Since it's partially free-standing, not ideal on rocky surfaces but nonetheless I was able to pitch on solid rock (using rocks to stake out the lines) and survived a pretty windy night this way - Once I got a few days in / got the hang of it, I had no trouble getting the fly tight (very important how you stake the tent itself to make this work well) - I know 'undyed' is a good thing so I'm not taking points off for this but will note that the fly got dirty pretty quickly since it's more or less white. - Size was definitely a little tight if I was imagining two people but was luxurious for one

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lightweight and packable. Hard to get a tight pitch. I'd give this tent 2.5 stars. The weight and packability of this tent are excellent but it comes with some trade offs. Pros: • Very light weight and packable. • The materials and construction are very good. I really like the 30d ripstop floor material. It seems like it should be pretty durable, especially for such a light weight tent. • The "G" hooks and cord to attach the tent to the poles is a nice design. Cons: • The fly is very difficult to get properly tensioned. Only the three stake out points where the poles attach have line tensioners. The rest of the stake out points on the fly have thin cord with slip knots. I have not been able to get a tight pitch yet. The fly is always pretty baggy and gets worse in high wind. I will likely replace the existing cord with longer pieces to provide more stake out options. Hopefully that helps. Despite the loose fly, the pole structure kept the tent body very stable during many hours of very high wind gusts. • The interior pockets are not very useful. The pocket at the front corner is pretty small and the pocket on the ceiling can only hold very lightweight items. There's not much tension in the tent body to hold the ceiling pocket in place. Everything I tried to put in it just fell out. Others have mentioned that the tent is small for a two people. I'd agree but think it is acceptable considering the low weight and how little space it takes up in a pack. Although, even for one person it is a bit challenging to sit up and move around comfortably inside. Overall, the weight and packability are great, but the baggy fly is pretty annoying.
