Product Description Item No.   10222772

The Mountain Hardwear Men's Thermostatic Jacket is a versatile jacket for layering on a cold day of backpacking. The Thermostatic is 15D nylon ripstop on the outside with 60g of Thermal Q Elite insulation packed on the inside. The combination creates a packable, lightweight jacket ready for the trail. A mild, chilly day will allow you to wear it alone and once the cold or wet comes in, all you need to do is slip a hardshell over top. The zippered hand pockets do far more than just warm your hands or hold onto your lip balm. You can store the whole jacket inside one of them when the day turns warm and your layer must be shed and stowed for later.

FEATURES of the Mountain Hardwear Men's Thermostatic Jacket

  • Two front handwarmer pockets
  • Dual hem drawcords for quick fit adjustments
  • Low profile elastic cuffs for easy layering
  • Jacket stows in pocket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! This jacket is warm, light, looks good, and was reasonably priced. It was actually the best price among comparable jackets on the internet. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MOOSEJAW SON! I prefer this style over the newer version but had difficulty finding it. And then there was MOOSEJAW SON! Other sites taunted me with their insulting prices. I could almost here their would be customer services representatives through the screen, "Hey big guy come over here and pay way more than you should for this jacket you just spent 45 minutes looking for. Oh, and don't worry about shipping, we'll overcharge for that too". But then here comes Moosejaw off the ropes with a sledge hammer and says "Yo bro I got this". Next thing I know I'm lookin like a baller in this sweet jacket I got for half the price I would have paid to those other clowns online. Not only did MOOSEJAW save me $99 bucks, they may one day save my life in the event I get stuck in the wilderness with nothing more than the Mountain Hardware Men's Thermostatic Jacket. God Bless MOOSJAW and God Bless the United States of America

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, Light and Versatile. From September 30th to mid April, I wore this jacket nearly every day. In the morning it was my outerlayer, in the afternoon it was my midlayer for ski practice. This jacket layers very well both under and over other garments. While very warm at first, the 60g of MH "Thermal Q Elite" seems to have lost a fair amount of warmth, which is the only drawback I have seen with this jacket. The jacket packs down small and easily fits in the handwarmer pocket, which doubles as a stuff sack. Only a couple of small, contained snags, The zipper is the smooth, chunky plastic kind and is very smooth and snag resistant. Overall, a great piece, highly reccomended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well made jacket I can't say "for the money" since I won one of these during the Christmas drawings. I wanted to review it anyhow. I am 6'-0" at 220 lbs and I chose a Large. It fits well with no dragging when moving around. I've worn it independently down to about 30° and it is comfortable. I have a North Face Gore-Tex shell that has no liner. I've been thinking about buying one, but on a whim decided to see if this may zip in. The teeth are the same size and the zipper length matches. It is tight though; the zipper pull on the MH is a tad thinner than the NF. Had to file the width of the NF zipper entry tab, but it worked great. The only Con to this MH jacket is the static. It is rather dramatic. I've tried soaking and air drying, along with the metal safety pins. I'm about to try scentless dryer sheets out of desperation. It is comfortable while wearing, but when you take it off the static is audibly explosive. Synthetic fill material after all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great coat up to the point of freezing. Then you'll need a more lofty coat. Love it! I'm 5'll" & 160lbs and I bought this coat in a medium. It's a perfect fit! I can easily layer underneath or put a soft shell over it. Over the past month the collar has taken on a darker color from the oils on my neck & chin, I didn't think I had a grease face?! So far the construction of the coat has been great, no pulled stitches or torn fabric. Did I mention how light this coat is? You tend to forget about it after awhile, but then you start to sweat and remember that you've got this awesome coat on. No regrets, love the coat do far!
