The Mountain Hardwear HyperLamina Flame Sleeping Bag is a 20 degree sleeping bag for alpine climbing. The Thermal.Q insulation is synthetic for moisture resistance and it gives the bag a 5 inch loft. The insulation has been zoned to maximize warmth in areas you need it most for a warmer nights sleep. A half length zip runs right down the center front of the bag, dropping weight and facilitating easy entry and exit in a performance mummy cut that wraps the body. Wrap and Velcro® the face gasket around the neck to prevent drafts and snuggle in for an evening of rest in preparation for the long haul tomorrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Bag , Excellent Price Got this bag for my 9 yr old to start growing Into! We live at 9000 ft And will start Jeep camping This summer! Which can dip low at night in the SanJuans, Also bought The ratio as well!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavier than spec [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag appears well designed. I prefer a center zipper, the foot box is great, and the laminated baffle tech is awesome. I got the Long and like most long bags it is wide (true to spec, 66in shoulder cirumference). I anticipated this and for my intended use (with belay jacket and puffy pants in cold temps) it was good, but if you're a tall skinny guy looking to sleep in your underwear you'll find it roomy. So my main issue is this: mine was 15% over spec weight. My Long (spec 42oz) was about 48oz on my scale. My scale isn't that far off (it weighs a 200g test weight at 190g) and my other gear weighs very close to manufacturer specs. Maybe it doesn't matter to most people, but it does matter to me and MH clearly market this towards alpinists (Good For: Alpine Climbing) who are notorious gram counters. I would have kept it if it were true to spec but 3lbs is getting hard to justify for a 20F bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this bag through a wide range of temperatures and it has been good. It looks brand new after a couple years of use. There is one con, if I were to replace it I would get a full-zip bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sleeping Bag [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag is extremely light. It packs down really small and is still very warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this bag for spring & fall trips and I just took it out for its first test run on a backpacking trip in the Adirondacks. Early September and we had two nights of temperatures just below freezing! This bag was perfect! I was toasty warm in just base layers, and it packed down very well into a compression sack. Great piece of gear!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag, But I Couldn't Deal With the Half Length Zipper [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tend to overheat in a sleeping bag even when it's freezing out. So when I saw this bag I was really psyched about the ability to unzip down the middle to air out more evenly than you can with a side zipper. Unfortunately when I got in this on the floor of my living room I realized that I would really miss the ability to put a foot out at the bottom to regular my temperature. Often I like to keep the bag snug over my torso but open at the bottom. This is not to say that I wouldn't recommend this bag- it really is a great, warm bag that packs very well (even though it has synthetic fill). If you sleep easy and don't overheat easily this bag would be a great buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HyperLamina [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received this bag and so far I love it. The fit is great (I am 5'10"). The center zip is also excellent and very useful. I will be using this bag for the upcoming summer season on the North Slope of AK. I will update/write a new review after a full summer of use. I only give four stars as I have not used it enough to warrant a five star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A1 I've used this bag on multiple overnighter kayaking tips, and I feel that it has performed super well in cold wet environments. Even when everything is covered in dew in the morning, I've been warm and dry.

Hey- need a bag for Kilimanjaro trip next February. Allergic to feathers so wary of a down bag. Some Kili kit lists say a warm 4 season bag. Others say rated to minimum -10. I think this bag is rated minimum -6 ? Is that right ? Would this bag be suitable

Asked by: willowan
Hiya, thanks for your question! It depends on how you tolerate temperatures, whether you sleep hot or cold and how many layers you plan to wear. The temperature rating for this bag is actually 11 - 20 Degrees Fahrenheit. (Most users will be comfortable if the air temperature drops no lower than 11°F.) These ratings assume that the sleeper is wearing a layer of long underwear and using a sleeping pad under the bag, so if needed, you could always add extra layers of clothing. If you need a warmer bag, try the Marmot Cloudbreak 0 Sleeping Bag. It will be heavier but it will definitely add warmth. Check it out: http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Marmot-Cloudbreak-0-Sleeping-Bag_10269785_10208_10000001_-1_ Hope this helps!

Hi, I'm 6 ft (0,25 in) and weigh about 160 lbs. Would the regular bag fit me or would it be better to go for the long bag? Thx for your answer, Alex

Asked by: Alex_R
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! And, my name is not Alex. With this, it's really what you'd prefer. The regular fit will be pretty snug...but some people love that. The long fit will be bigger (obviously) but you can always fold the excess under your feet. Personally, I say go bigger. Better to be bigger and cinch than too small, and out of luck. Hope this helps you out, Rupert.

I am looking to get a sleeping bag. Would the regular be an acceptable size or would it be too tight? I am 5'7 and 210 lbs.

Asked by: IJustWantToHike
Hey there Hiker! A regular should work out for you. The max user height is 6 feet. We also have measurements for the inside circumference of the bag that you can take a look at just to be sure: Foot Circumference (Regular): 39". Hip Circumference (Regular): 58". Shoulder Circumference (Regular): 63". Hope this helps!
