OutDry

OutDry
OutDry utilizes a one-piece construction process that creates a waterproof breathable barrier which is heat-bonded directly to an outer fabric. This ensures that no water can get it, as there are no seams or gaps, but is still very breathable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you want 1 bag to rule them all... I bought this bag for a Zion National Park trip. I researched a million bags and couldn't find the elusive "1 bag that has everything" until this. 100 degree heat, thunderstorms, occasional underwater dunks, small loads, large loads, did everything. It is for people who like to tinker, has a multitude of configurations. If you like that, then this is the bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable with weight, minimalistic Let me start by saying I bought this in M/L to replace the older Direttissima model from 5 years ago after trying one on in a local gear shop. The two packs are nothing alike. This new model is far more comfortable on your shoulders and hips, with more and better lash points. The OutDry coating is excellent in snow, and keeps everything dry. Don't expect to find lots of extra pockets and a bladder sleeve though, as you'll be let down. This pack is truly one big cavernous compartment that can be cinched down well for lighter loads. My favorite feature is the crampon sleeve on the outside. You can throw whatever wet stuff you have in there as well as your crampons to let it dry out without soaking the inner pack compartment. My last trip out with it, I got into some water while in 5 degree temps, and my fleece gloves were soaked. I tossed them in the outer sleeve and dealt with drying them out later. Another excellent MH pack, and the right size for most adventures. Be sure to try one on before you buy though as there are now only two sizes, and the torso range overlap is very close. Enjoy your adventures in the snow!

MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PACK FIT GUIDE and INFO

• Determine the correct pack size by measuring from the top of your hip shelf to the C7 vertebrae, which is the protruding bump at the base of the neck.

• If you think you are between pack sizes, consider how and when you will be using the pack. For example, if you will be using the pack primarily in the winter, when more and bulkier clothing is required, you may opt to size up.

• You can find Torso Range and other size information in the description FEATURES or SPECIFICATIONS for each Mountain Hardwear pack. You can also refer to the size guide below to compare the current season packs by category.
