Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

Overall great packI've only used it once so far but I can already tell it's very durable and cinches down good when packed. The fit is really great and feels well balanced between shoulders and hips. Lots of pockets to explore and can't wait to use it for some big climbs.

MH, please maker a smaller version for women! When I say smaller, I mean the width of the straps, as the width of the straps is extremely uncomfortable for smaller women. I'm 5'4 and 120 lbs and my friend is 5' and she has the 100 L version of this pack which she took to Denali. We both bemoaned the fact you can't move normally with this pack because the shoulders are way too wide. When your arm moves forward when you walk it rubs the staps badly because of how far over they sit. One of her friends who has the pack resorted to duct tape to try to cinch the shoulder straps in because the chest strap won't do it. Not to mention, weight doesn't carry well in this pack when its sitting in a weird spot on your acromions. This pack would be great if only it fit! Please, MH! I have yet to find a mountaineering pack that fits narrower shoulders! Please make this pack in a smaller size! The torso length is also pretty long for a smaller woman, although, maybe I should just say "women" instead of "small women" as I think the average height is 5'5', so I'm not even that small!

Best Pack of All Times...I own a lot of packs. I backpack every week all year around and I live in Alaska. Winter in Alaska requires heavier gear. A -20 to -40 F bag weighs around 6 pounds. An R value 6 pad is 2-2.5 lbs. The tent is around ten pounds, and food and water are heavy, so are extra clothing. I can stuff it all in this pack and a shovel and ice axe and I am just under 5 foot five, 140 lbs, a 60 yr old man. Its a comfortable pack for hauling the heavies. It resists abraisionsl I have the 105 liter bag for real Winter. Perfect/

Outstanding, but with one small problemI've now had this backpack for a year and have used it extensively in every kind of weather and in every kind of condition. It's traveled through deserts, cloud forests, high alpine peaks, and more. It's incredibly well thought out and comfortable. The array of ways to stash gear on this bag is nothing short of phenomenal. I sometimes wish the space for the hydration pack was on the outside of the bag (against my back) rather than internal to the bag, but the internal positioning makes complete sense for high alpine and winter expeditions where freezing temperatures are the norm. The only real complaint I'd have is that the foam padding on the straps and back turned my standard light blue hiking Smartwool shirt bright yellow when I sweated against the pads during the heat of summer. This is a process called phenolic yellowing and is due to pH issues, so it's a known issue in the textile industry. What's unclear to me is why the foam padding on this pack did this, as I've never had this issue with any other pack of any kind. Other than that issue, it's an outstanding pack and one I'd buy again in a heartbeat!

I like the pack but some downsides for my gear.Pros:
- Great size, very flexible
- Modular, nice adjustments
- Highly comfortable even with heavy loads
- Robust materials
Cons:
- No hip belt pockets. I knew this coming in, and I do think the gear loops on the hip belt are cool, but it still makes me sad.
- The ice axe attachment loops are too small for my Petzl Sum'tec ice axe. This is really disappointing for me. A more traditional style axe fits fine, but the trig rest of the Sumtec makes it very difficult to fit through. Really on this this back there should be the more modern ice axe attachments with the metal bits that go through the head of the axe. I may even try to add one of those myself.
Overall, it's a nice pack. I would recommend it to a friend but I would mention for them to try their ice axe/tools on it first.

Highly Functional / Great Looking PackI bought this pack for a trip to the Italian Dolomites and Swiss Alps. Weather kept me away from the summits but I can't say I wasn't prepared if the opportunity had presented itself. This pack passed all the tests and looked great doing it. I wanted quality and that's what Mountain Hardware provides. I recommend this pack for any mountaineering/hiking/climbing pursuit.
Hey there AHill22, great question! This pack does feature a water-resistant finish but it is sadly not waterproof. Sorry about that but I hope this helps!
