Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Review I continue to choose these shoes was their quality and less on appearances. This is my third pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moved from Inspire to Catalyst I had gone through probably 4-5 pairs of Wave Inspires over the last few years after being recommended the model at a local running store and loved the 9s, but the 10s and 11 just didn't perform for me. I had researched the new Catalyst and thought about giving it a try and a different local shop agreed with my assessment- the support of a Inspire with a lighter, more responsive feel. I love them! Just ordered my second pair. Do wish there were less vibrant color options as I like to retire my running shoes after ~500 miles and use as every day kicks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality running shoes, could be wider has a "quality" feel to it. Firm, like energy is being transferred efficiently to trail or road. Holds foot in neutral position. Well designed; no achy feet or legs so far. My only quibble is the mid foot is only marginally wide enough. As a middle age runner that previously NB shoes (for width), the Catalyst is a bit snug. My next pair may be the Wide wave runner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looked cool Loved the look and feel. Was very disappointed when the out side toe area frayed in less than 3 months. Didn't own them for a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Elixir is Reborn! I ran with the Elixir back before it was discontinued and when I heard this shoe was coming out I couldn't wait to get it on. I can say after running a pair completely into the ground and getting another pair its now one of my go to shoes for both races and training (from 10k - 50k). I recently had some Achilles issues but this shoe seemed to resolve it with the higher offset, and it has plenty of cushioning while still being a faster more responsive shoe to handle my higher mileage (training for a 100 miler in February). Overall if you loved the Elixir you'll love this shoe, and if you didn't get to try the Elixir but want a slightly posted high offset responsive shoe with a mild amount of cousin then you'll enjoy this shoe too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very solid debut for this model Of course us Mizuno fans miss the Elixir, and the Catalyst is a very nice replacement. I'm just over 100mi on this shoe including plenty of speed (10x400m) sessions as well as longer tempo runs (16mi total, with 8mi at tempo pace). This shoe handles both the longer runs and the faster runs with aplomb. I'm very pleased with the fit, the wide toebox, the weight, the color, and basically everything about it. I only gave it 4 stars for durability because I don't know how far I'll be able to take them. I run my Wave Riders up to 900mi and my Elixirs often topped 600mi, so these I'm hoping take me somewhere in between.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mizuno Wave Catalyst Good shoes, however right out of the box they feel quite stiff but once broken in are great shoes. I had previously ran in the inspires but i wanted something a bit lighter. these feel quite similar but offer a little less cushioning. overall a pretty good pair of trainers.
