Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome size This cam is an amazing cam and is a great size!! Can fit in some tiny cracks and is very durable. Unlike many others it seems to hold up pretty well and is very nice to open

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cams, no thumb loop needed Love these. They are a great compliment to a black diamond cam as they fit different placements. I will usually reach for these first when choosing gear. I have the older version with the thumb loop as well so I was a bit worried about not thumb loop, but the thumb tab on the new one is slightly curved so you never feel like it's insecure. I'd probably choose to not have the thumb loop if I could do it again now that I've tried these out. Overall awesome cams and I can't recommend them enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and compact I've only had these out a couple of times since buying them, but I really like them as small cams. They are compact, light, and high quality. They feel a bit more solid than some other small cams, and have cut out lots of trim pieces that aren't needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and light Smooth pull action, light, solid feel, maintains its rigid stem (doesn't flex or bend when drawing down). Good value for the money, great customer service. Arrived quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MCs These guys are super light. I bought the 0-2. Bought camp nanos to rack them, they weigh next to nothing. I’ve only placed a few of them A few times, but they are great to have on the rack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First master cam that wasn't booty I've bootied a couple of the older master cams over the years, but this is my first new MC. I prefer to have a thumbloop but free gear is free gear. Thank you moosejaw your the swizzle!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snappy and light The bulk of my rack is composed of BD C4 Ultralights. I started buying the Metolius cams because they'll theoretically fit "in between" the C4 placement sizes. In comparison to the C4s, the Master Cams have a snappier feeling trigger, and a much more flexible stem that makes certain placements feel more secure. The tradeoff is that without a thumb loop, sometimes I feel like they're a little harder to place if I'm gripped -- I don't know, something about having a smaller "target" for my thumb gets in my head. Overall, really well built cams, and I like the range finder on the larger sizes. Even if you know what you're doing, it's a good reminder, and not just for gumby leaders in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Durable & Light I have used these cams, both smaller and larger sizes, for about a year. What makes them initially attractive is the fact that everything is metal (not plastic), very lightweight, flexible, they have a snappy cam spring, and have a competitive price point. If you're a beginner, the range finder can really help you dial down what is good and what is not. The cams do act differently depending on size. For the smaller cams, (sizes 00 to 4) these are the best ones to purchase initially from this set. They hold great, the lobes are durable, the wire stem is surprisingly durable when bent over ledges, and they have enough spring tension to not really walk into a crack. You can't have enough of these. The larger cams are good too. This is where the weight savings of the cams really shine. #'s 5,6 & 7 aren't floppy when trying to place overhead. The #8 though does have a few kinks. First it's wire is a tad too thin to be able to bump the cam up a crack, causing the stem to just bend instead of pushing the lobes up. Second, after a few falls, the lobes of the #8 can be wobbly. Third, the #8 doesn't have as much range comparatively as some similarly sized double axle cams. You'd need to have a next cam size larger to really complete the hand sized cams. This makes the weight savings of the #8 moot, as you'll have to carry a second cam to fill in the size gap. I personally like the lack of thumb loop, as you can palm the base of the cam when placing if you're pumped. The kevlar trigger cords have never broken on me, but there are anecdotes of where they have on people. Metolius does repair these cords.
