Nothing's worse than a 30lb. pin rack and a cheesy gear sling to hang it on. The double-sided, super-beefy Big Wall Gear Sling is ergonomically cut to evenly spread the load of all that iron! Its hearty, 1050d Ballistics outer fabric is laminated with firm, die-cut gel foam and soft, non-absorbent Conlure lining. Back pad has a storage pouch for hydration system or spare gear and clothing.

FEATURES of the Metolius Big Wall Gear Sling Multi-Loop

 • Multi-loop version of the Big Wall Gear Sling allows for more organization of gear
 • Gear Slings are nonstructural and for gear racking only

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable! I bought this as a birthday gift for my climbing partner but definitely plan on borrowing it. I have found that other one-shouldered gear slings can make me super heady when leading due to the weight distribution, but the way this gear sling distributes the weight and makes it so your gear doesn't slide forward is awesome! The backpack pocket is too small for a Nalgene bottle, but would be perfect for sunscreen and chapstick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does its Job The sectionals are great. Better than the single loop designs. The sternum strap tends to ride All The Way up every couple of minutes and the pack is totally too small. Still a great thing to own.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from pack is too small to hold anything useful I was hopping to get a lightweight hydration pack with gear loops for desert climbing. The gear loops are fine but the pack is way to small to hold anything other than the cliff bar metolius mentions in their write up. I cannot get even a water bottle inside the pack, I bought a 1 liter collapasable bottle and it will not fit if full.,,,,I think there is a pretty big market for something like this but this one is a fail. The pack needs to hold about 1.5 liters of water, a clif bar, and a little net extenstion that can hold a super lightwight jacket. I am thinking of taking the smallest camel bak and replacking the shoulder straps with the one from this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Totally Re-positions Where you Gear Will Hang Once my trad rack grew way beyond normal gear sling size I decided to try climbing in this. So, #1 thing to consider for free climbing is:where do I want my gear to hang? Most gear slings sit all the gear across the front of your body so when doing delicate face move/hips parallel to the wall it is scary with cams dragging and trying to catch on everything they can.The big wall sling hangs it all off to your side, meaning jamming your body in an offwidth or burly layback moves are scarier. Also know that gear can hang low on this such that hand foot matches require some maneuvering around gear. 4 stars for usefulness, but 3 stars because I concur with other's notes about pack size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from the pack on back is awful That little pouch on back is WAY TOO SMALL to qualify for big wall use. It isn't really hydration compatible because I can barely get a 1-liter bladder in there. I was better off hanging a nalgene bottle from my waist harness loop. The gear loops are great, but it would be better if there was one loop right in the middle of the back. the fit is comfortable, but the too-small pack makes it nearly useless. and why is there a heavy water-proof zipper on this thing, when the fabric isn't water-proof, and there are holes in the bottom of the pack?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Product Does its Job and Does it Well This is a great product, and was a good addition to my equipment. I was in need of a comfortable way to hold my rack and this fit the bill perfectly. The gear loops on both sides allowed me to organize and distribute my gear so everything was accessible. The back pack style straps distributes the weight well and makes even a heavy rack feel light. The shoulder straps are also adjustable which was an added bonus. There is a clip in the front which prevents the pack from falling off. The bag in the back was a little smaller than I had expected, not big enough for my hydration pack. Overall very pleased!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not bad for most climbs I liked this sling for the fact that I can balance my gear over my shoulders on my climbs. the only problem is go figure, that also means that on some climbs this sling just doesn't work unless you load just one side of it which is kind of cumbersome. Over all I really like it though for most climbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If your need a gearsling, buy it! This thing is the best gear harness around.

Pros: Lightweight, multi loops for organization, pocket for water or topo, daisy chains on back for more versatility, padded shoulder straps, and its fully adjustable.

Cons: none really, but as a chest harness it would be even better
