Nice to have an enclosed shoe that easily let's moisture escape and evaporate from your socks. Secure on the foot with a light grippy sole to keep traction on a multitude of surfaces. Bright color scheme is nice too!

are these waterproof? Also, how is the traction? (it looks good from what I can tell). Visiting Zion in a few weeks and these seem appropriate for both Angel's Landing and the Narrows. Thanks!

Hey there, thanks for your question. The Merrell Men's Wildwood Aerosport Shoe is not waterproof, it has a lot of open airy mesh. This means it will dry really quickly but water is going to pour right into it whenever you step in a puddle. Hiking in the Narrows you are pretty much just walking in water, so your feet will be wet unless you're in actual fishing waders. A lot of people prefer to use a more amphibious style shoe like this, and then just let them dry out. Depending on the order of your hikes I think this shoe would be a good candidate for your trip. My wife and I ar hiking Vermont's Long Trail this summer. My feet sweat so no matter if the shoe is water proof my feet are always damp I want to walk them dry. I am 5'9", 175 lbs, w/ 30 lb pack. does it have a rock plate? recommendations?
