The sole on the right Moab shoe of the pair i just purchased is separating from at the toe. I am planning on hiking the Costwolds, in April and I do not think the shoes will perfrom. I would like the shoes replaced. Please advise. The number on tongue is J036553. Oiginal box recycled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice shoe. Heavy and bulky but warm. These hiking shoes are very heavy and bulky. They are really good in snow and mud but I live in Florida. I would buy them again if I move back into the cold , nasty weather in the rest of the United States.

what is the Width size?

Thanks for the question! The MOAB 2 has a Medium width. With that being said, looks like sizes 8.5 & 14 also have Wide options. Hope this helps!

How does one determine size. Measuring with stick?

Hey, Skeet - sticks are for finding water! For measuring feet, you can pretty much go in any shoe store or even large general supermarket that sells clothing and you can find a foot measuring device. If none of that is available to you, you can certainly get a rough idea by taking a ruler, placing it on your heel and then measuring to the tip of your longest toe. That will definitely get you in the ballpark!

How are they on ice ?

Hey, Marg, Great question. These MOABs are great for giving you traction on hiking trails, even in wet, muddy conditions, but they're not specifically designed to give you traction on ice. Merrell makes some other hiking boots/shoes that are specifically designed to help you make it through icy conditions, including a modified version of the MOAB.
