Rated 5 out of 5 by from lightweight and roomy This tent is comfortable for two people. I like the bent poles, which really do create extra space. I also like that the polyester rainfly doesn't stretch when wet in the way that a nylon fly would. The materials are durable - I haven't used a footprint, but that hasn't been an issue. I bought this tent because it seemed like a good compromise in terms of space, durability, and weight. I haven't been disappointed so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A tent you should seriously consider... I was in the market for a new 2 person tent, and decided to order this tent over the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2. Here's why: 1.) I own a Marmot Limelight 3P already, and the pre-bent poles on the corners make a BIG difference. It provides head and foot room not found in most tents. 2.) The rain fly is polyester. Sil-nylon is great when the weather is nice, but if you experience wet conditions, the rain fly will sag and stretch when wet... causing the fly to lay on your tent body, possibly getting you wet inside the tent. It's also a 20D weight, which feels more durable. 3.) Floor area is 32 sq. ft compared to the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL 2, which has 28 sq. ft. The Marmot is also rectangular, while the Big Agnes is tapered at the foot end. 4.) The Marmot is truly free standing. It's a nice option to have when you can't find a perfect spot to pitch your tent. 5.) The weight of the tent is 1 pound heavier than the Tiger Wall UL2, but I almost never take a 2 person tent when I hike solo. When you split this tent up between two people, it becomes just over 1.5 pounds per person, less than the lightest solo tents available. However, with the tent being very light for a 2 person, I can imagine people using it as a solo tent. I know I would. 6.) VALUE. This tent is a really great deal, especially if you can pick it up on sale like I did. It is $100 less than the Tiger Wall UL2 at full price. The ONLY complaint I have about this tent, is that Marmot left off guy out points at the head and foot of the rain fly. The 3 person version has two loops. I'm not sure why they left this off. I sewed on two guy out points myself to provide better ventilation. If you are on the fence about a new 2 person tent, I think you should give this tent a try. It has awesome features, is well made, seems durable, and is a true value in today's tent offerings. Also, if you do decide to buy it, get the footprint, or a ground sheet (my personal favorite: Gossamer Gear Polycryo -Large). You want to protect your tent and be able to use it for years to come! Happy camping everyone :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Tent I bought this tent from Moosejaw because they had the best price by far. I have only set the tent up but it is a nice quality and really light weight. I am 6'2" 190lbs. I would say that I fit well in the tent but if you are much taller then look elsewhere as it would be a tight fit. It is enough room for two people but it would be a bit cramped so take the one you love to sleep in it with you. It is easy to set up and overall a nice tent. I will elaborate more if I ever use it as I am an avid hammock camper. I only bought it for the times I cant find a tree and for the vanlife I intend to embark on. I have always liked Marmot and for the money you cant beat the quality. I cannot confirm the outdoor use of this product yet but it is a much nicer quality and lighter than my REI tent that I owned and used for almost 9 yrs. So I gave it a quality thumbs up until proven otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super light and packable I’m an backpacker who hikes big hills so weight is key. This tent is super light and easy to set up. Sleep 2 6ft men but it’s quite snug and not much more room. Also like the duel sided doors as it’s easy to get out of without having to crawl around and wake any up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not amazing After exhaustive research I bought this tent for backpacking. It is light and packs it up well. I bought this tent to replace an almost identical tent that I've had for about 20 years that is a couple pounds heavier. When I set this tent up, I noticed that the ends of the fly are not very taught and tend to Flap against the screen of the inner tent. I haven't used it in the rain yet so I'm not sure how wet everything will get but I was pretty disappointed. I feel like I paid pretty good money for this tent and it wouldn't have been that hard to construct it so that it was a more taught finish on the ends. We'll see how it goes when I take it in the rain but I'm not entirely satisfied. I would have given it three and a half Stars if possible. I realize that some people are going to comment that you can stake it out and get it really tight. The beautiful thing about the two-man tent is that generally speaking you don't have to stake them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the quality of product and distributor. Bought this for backpacking in Grand Teton NP. Bought it from Moosejaw for the cheapest price I could find on the internet. I got it two days later for free shipping. I was so excited, I put it up immediately in my apartment. The quality of everything is very satisfying. The poles are so light and almost snap themselves together. Set up is so easy. Everything is done with UL in mind. It has the most square footage per oz in the UL category. It is well worth the $282 I spent including the footprint. I highly suggest this tent. And ordering from Moosejaw was a great experience. Aside from the smooth transaction, they sent a Moosejaw sticker and also gave me cash credit towards another purchase! Marmot is a quality brand and I will keep them in mind when making other purchases.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations. Beware: Packed Dimensions Prior to purchasing the Tungsten UL, I already owned a Marmot Limelight 2P tent which I love and use for all-purpose camping, including backpacking when I have a friend along to share the load (6 lbs including footprint, pegs). That tent has proven bombproof, but I wanted something lighter and more packable for solo bike-packing and kayaking. I was pleasantly surprised when this little guy arrived. I was shocked at how light it was! But I was equally impressed by the quality of the materials used: I was expecting something gossamer-like that would blow away in the lightest breeze. But no, the materials used for the fly and floor-tub are surprisingly tough and the poles equally so. Only the mesh portion and zippers require a bit of extra care, but that is typical of most ultra-light tents, I believe. As for space, I was already used to the pre-bent poles near the floor from my Limelight: it makes a huge difference in the usability of the 6-8" of space near the wall/floor junction. The verticality of the side walls and overall peak height make for an impression of huge interior space and openness. Also, I use a 25" sleeping pad and even though this tent is intended for solo camping, I was able to fit a 21" sleeping pad next to it for the occasional need to accommodate a 2nd person. My only cons: 1. The dimensions for the "packed size" given on the Marmot website are incorrect: the poles are actually 20" long and not 18" as stated. This caused them not to fit in my bike panniers. Instead, I had to jury-rig some way to attach them externally to my bike frame. 2. The packed dimensions of 18"x7" (20"x7" actually, roughly 10L) are also excessively roomy for the tent/fly body: once the poles are removed, the tent packs down easily into a 5 litre dry sack (not even a compression sack).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, Fast, and Easy Just got back from a spike camp in the Book Cliffs and only experienced some light rain and wind. Tent was light enough and super easy to setup. It could use a couple more internal storage flaps in the corners and 4 more stakes (maybe I got shorted) for the guy lines. More than enough room for 1 person hunting and the ability to keep your gear out of the elements.

would you recommend adding the footprint?

Asked by: noar
Thanks for the question! Even though a foot print is not required, we do highly recommend pairing one with your tent because it will repel moisture & protect your tent's bottom from abrasions, scuffs and punctures. I included a link to the coordinating footprint below. Hope this helps! https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Marmot-Tungsten-UL-2P-Footprint_10345463_10208_10000001_-1_
