Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

Durability is the arckilles hillShort version
Almost perfect, it is light and warm. However, the face fabrics might show clear sign of wear, similar to another review posted prior.
Long version
This jacket uses a relatively new material from octa, which can be thought as a direct competition against the polartec Alpha direct fabric. Currently there are 2 main variations of Octa Loft on the market: the one with high density of relatively short fiber (used by this jacket), and another version where the fiber is more fluffy and more loosely woven, more similar to alpha direct. The first version can also be found in tons of active insulation or close to skin base layer. The second version is also used by slightly warmer jacket. This fabric achieves roughly the same CLO value as polartec Alpha direct: around 0.38. Both are breathable and suitable for active insulation. The main differences are: it is usually only fluffy on one side, allowing manufactures to put some protective fabrics to completely cover the insulation part, and it is hydrophilic instead hydrophobic for Alpha direct.
The main trend in cottage companies is to use these fabrics as stand alone pieces to achieve incredible weight saving, warm to weight ratio, breathability, while implicitly asking users to be more knowledgable and more careful when using the piece. Big name brands that need to consider general population and all their warranty claims tend to put a stronger face fabrics (often wind resistant but highly breathable with CFM >=50) on top of it to achieve a mid-point between functionality and durability. Marmot has used a very similar recipe with a more minimalistic design, and I got mine at a very steep discount. It is incredibly warm at its weight, it is breathable, it is light (considering it has a full length center zipper and 2 pockets). It is a perfect piece for aerobic activity in the mountain, while also not too technical for my taste to wear in city.
The only downside for this jacket (or at least the one I got), as mentioned before, is that it has an extremely weak face fabric, prone to show very clear pattern of use. It might look like it is technically some ripstop fabric…? But the entire grid “reinforcement” thread going horizontal and vertical can be easily pulled out of the fabrics on the slightly snag if that area of the fabric already shows some sign of abrasion. So it is not functionally rip stopping, it merely has the grid looking pattern. And ironically it is actually the first thread to go when you caught something ……. Also, I generally took extremely good care of all the gear I use. I haven’t seen such obvious pattern of abrasion even on my alpha direct fabric hoody from a cottage manufacture, where the entire insulation fabric is completely exposed to the element without any face fabrics and I have worn that heavily for the past 2 years going through mountaineering trip in the winter and long backpacking trip in summer under 35lb pack …. Yet, I got some worse wear pattern from this jacket within a month in winter time with only one snowshoe trip. I will have to baby care this jacket when I am hiking. I definitely wont take it to anywhere near rock, so the bouldering and rock climbing community might need to think twice before purchasing this piece.
All in all, a truly almost fantastic piece, except for the durability of the face fabric.

Incredible layer[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is a great midlayer for cool conditions. I've worn it hiking in the mid 30's by itself and felt very comfortable. The hood is a perfect fit and tucks in nicely under my rain jacket when it starts to pour. On its own, the outer layer will repel a a pretty good sprinkle, though I'm sure the DWR will wear off eventually. I'm 6'1", 175 lbs and the Medium fits perfectly and weighs 10.4 oz. A great, versatile layer.

Easily worn (not in a good way)[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hard to say if I would recommend this jacket or not. I purchased one in October. Very comfortable and has just the right amount of warmth. The reason I am at a debate is the fact that it is now February, and I noticed some pilling on it. The pilling has a distinct pattern.... being caused by my car's seatbelt! Am I expected to take my jacket off anytime I am going to ride in a car?

Great lightweight jacket[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good lightweight jacket for slightly chilly weather (50-60F) if you're not someone who gets cold easily. Decently breathable, but I also overheat more easily than most, so YMMV. Easily layered with something heavier if conditions require it.

Amazing little technical jacket![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for something in the mid to lightweight range and this jacket nailed it. Perfect for those 50-60 degree days as an outer layer and works extremely well as a mid-layer underneath a vest or coat for colder temps. Serves like a windbreaker with a bit of
