Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.

All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

My Favorite Jacket[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is lightweight, windproof, flexible, and warm. I got the black version, and it is very stylish; looks great. It is my favorite jacket! The polartec material is remarkable at how well it keeps me warm, despite being thin and flexible. It is incredibly comfortable to wear for long durations, and is relatively durable, although not for hard abrasions. I love that it is windproof and has some protection from light rain. Absolutely a terrific jacket!

Great light weight jacket with water repellent[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my go to morning jacket as the temp drops into the 20s & 30s in the fall. Being water repellent makes it the ideal morning dog walking jacket for me.

Awesome Bang for Buck All Purpose WindshellTerrific “bang for buck” windbreaker and absolutely my absolute fav of many. Two hand pockets and a horizontal chest pocket that fits my IPhone XR. Warmer, cooler and more breathable than I thought possible with the look of the fabrics. I’ve worn it running and riding in some big wind with precip and it repelled both. I’m 5’7” 150, athletic body type and the M fits me on the money. This is my second Alpha 60.

Warm mid- to top-layer, light DWRI bought the Marmot Mens' Alpha 60 in a size Medium about two months ago, along with a Rab Alpha size Large as well to see which might make the better mid-layer for hiking and thru-hiking. I am 6'2", 165lbs, 40" chest, 33" waist, 34" inseam, 33.5" sleeve, and 16 3/4" neck. The Marmot Alpha 60 in Medium is just barely on the tight side in the torso for me, with perfect sleeve and neck dimensions, while the Rab Alpha in Large (European sizing) is just about right in all dimensions. The Marmot in Medium could use a slightly longer torso length, to make it cover a better area when using a harness or backpack with waist belt.
The Marmot has pockets, with an insulated front (this is a nice feature on a jacket this light!) and a mesh inner liner, so your hands get the warmth from your torso, while protecting from the outer elements.
The Marmot Alpha in Medium came in on my scale at 8.8oz/251gm and the Rab at 9.0oz/257gm. The difference between the two being the Pertex outer layer on the Marmot that provides (comparatively) a good deal better windbreaking ability compared to the Rab.
PolarTec Alpha material is difficult to compare to any other technical mid-layer like cotton, wool, poly or fleece. It is a very lightweight poly-type insulation in regards to moisture wicking, it's as warm as (or warmer than) an equivalent wool. It feels very supple, and the Alpha material is silent, while the Marmot has a little noise associated with the Pertex layer. But, where it stands it out and is harder to describe, is breathability, and this is where the Marmot and Rab separate a bit.
The Rab Alpha is more like an open sweatshirt design, though form fitting. If I was doing highly active, strenuous events in colder weather, combined with a technical outer shell, this would be amazing, as it provides warmth with high moisture control, while the outer shell to manage wind. How is something both warm, and yet let's the wind go right through, allowing sweat to do what it's supposed to do? The Rab Alpha is now one of my go-to winter layers.
The Marmot Alpha 60 with the outer Pertex layer, in my opinion, can perform the mid-layer duties above, but also acts a light outer-layer, as well. It has an increased ability to buck the wind, but still maintains an incredible breathability during high activity. The Pertex layer does have a DWR coating, so it will resist a light amount of moisture too. This would make an ideal layer for the fall/winter runner, cross-country skier, or snow-shoe hiker.
I think the key with the Alpha layer is activity. For me, admittedly a bit of a cold weinie, this is not a "sit-around-the-camp-fire" layer, as the wind goes right through it while sitting still. But throw on a backpack and start cranking 25 mile days below 50 degrees, and this thing rocks. Without the backpack, the Marmot, because of the Pertex layer makes a great light layer jacket that you can wear anywhere.
My only gripe on the Marmot is the front zipper. It is YKK, but it is incredibly light and delicate. With the jacket zipped up (again, size Medium is a bit snug on my 33" midsection) I sat down in a chair and the bottom of the zipper split upwards. While I was able to reconnect the zipper, I can tell one of the "teeth" at the bottom is not quite right. If the jacket was a Large, I don't think this would have happened, and probably would not experience any issues. But, it is a very delicate zipper, and would worry about long-term durability of repeated cycles, as one little misalignment could wreck the zipper. The Rab Alpha has a "normal" size zipper that is more substantial and feels like it would not have any issues at all.

Warm and Light WeightThis jacket is great from 30 - 60 degrees. Repels the wind real well. Light weight and comfortable. Only problem I have is the inner liner sheds all over my Patagonia fleece, and that doesn't come out so I can only use the fleece with this jacket.
