Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but no better than my last down mittens I bought these to replace 650 fill down mittens I've been using for years that finally wore out. After reading a number of reviews praising the superior warmth of the Expedition Mitt, I purchased a pair. Reviews had said they were so warm, people's hands were sweaty or that even on the coldest days, hand warmers were unnecessary with these mittens. that all sounded good to me since my hands are always cold skiing and, even on 30-40 degree days, I use handwarmers. I used the Expedition Mitt last week, spring skiing in Colorado. Temps were in the 30s most of the week and the one day I didn't use handwarmers, my fingertips were definitely cold. These mittens appear well constructed and I'm sure will hold up for a long time, but they are no warmer than my old down mittens (which were about 1/2 the price). Also, they are HUGE. I know they're men's mittens and I am a woman with small to medium sized hands, but even the men's extra small are like oven mitts. And I really dislike the extra long cuff. This isn't a bad product. It just isn't as good as I expected for the reviews and the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest mitt available This is my second pair of these gloves. I use them for skiing. I have cold hands all the time. My first pair was purchased in 1999. Love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marmot Expedition Mitt I have not had a chance to use them yet but they are everything they described them to be. They fit as expected and are super soft and comfortable inside and durable exterior. They appear to be well made with quality materials. Can't wait to use them !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm hands...finally! Bought these last month for my husband and his hands finally stay warm when outside in the sun zero temps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid! I bought these not too long ago with the intention of keeping all the digits on my precious hands warm in the deep Minnesota winters. I was not let down. My only note would be that these seem to run fairly big for the sizes. I have very large hands (10” from pinky tip to thumb tip) so I initially ordered XL’s. Had to go a size down to large for a proper fit. Even the larges are kind of on the big size. As far as keeping my brittle, raynauds struck hands warm, these mittens rock! No more numb fingers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive but worth every penny My hands' cold tolerance has been terrible ever since frostbite in Canada years ago. With these mittens, I'm comfortable without hand warmers or liner gloves, at least down to about 10F. Looking forward to testing them in colder temperatures later this month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Gloves These gloves are super warm. Worked well skiing in single digit temps with the wind blowing! Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Digit saver! My first time using these was on a hike in the Adirondacks, with -26F temperatures (-30 to -40 with the windchill). My fingers were getting dangerously cold, and no combination of gloves was helping to warm them. Very shortly after putting these mittens on, my hands and fingers quickly began to warm up, and were protected from the severe cold for the remainder of the day. They were not a cheap investment, but considering the real-world functionality and materials used, obviously worth it. Consider me a believer!
