It is extremely light. I would not recommend it being used for anything that might cause abrasions such as walking through brush or maybe even climbing trees. It seems somewhat tough but it's not as tough as say cordura.

We are in MN so winters are cold. We have negative temps waiting for the bus sometimes. The size S is a little big, but he loves it and it might fit for 2 years since it has room to grow. I have primarily bought the patagonia hi loft down previously, he still fits okay in his 5T one but it was getting a tad short. I love patagonia bc it can be handed down and stays looking brand new. However, the marmot one is quite a bit cheaper than the hi loft down boys patagonia and seems to be just as high quality! He’s been wearing it for about a month. Hoping it holds up just as well and can be passed down!

Ordered Boys XXL - short in sleeve length for my 12 yr old, fit well otherwise. No size chart for XXL boys; Sleeve length one size down XL is 28-30, so guessing XXL sleeve is 30-32? Can we get sizing to compare Marmot Boys XXL to Adult SM for this item?

Hey there, thanks for your question. Your guess was right, the boys XXL is 1-2 inches bigger for every measurement, so the boys XXL fits: Chest: 34-36 Waist: 29-31 Hip: 34-36 Sleeve: 30-32 The sleeves on an adult small are also around 32" I hope this helps!

 We are going to a Green Bay Packers game in Dec. Just wanting to find out what temp this jacket would be good down to? I have seen some of the other ones rated for down to -10. Would this one be good also? Will it keep him warm to that temp?

At 700 Fill Power Down with 100% Polyester ripstop and Marmot Down Defender, this jacket is a great option for taking on a midwest winter. There is no specific temperature rating since it is very dependent on the amount of activity and the body temperature of the person wearing it, but this jacket is meant for the frigid winter temperatures and will keep you about as warm as one can be in -10 degrees.
