Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent boots I bought these boots for my wife and she loves them. She has had different brands of boots and these are by far one of her favorite pairs. She will be wearing them on many expeditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome boot! glad I bought these!! Although I realize these are a step up from the Asolo Stynger (which gets great reviews), I had worn the Stynger on my Kilimanjaro climb and I came back with the worst heel blisters of my life… I won't go into detail but needless to say they are NOT meant for my feet! So I spent a lot of time looking for a good solid GTX boot that was supportive in the ankle, sturdy when carrying heavier backpack loads, but also a boot that could be used for long hikes or day trips. I don't suggest buy and go, but I did happen to do this b/c of time constraints and wore these boots for a long day climb in northern Chile on the Lascar Volcano (18,300 ft summit). I wore them with a medium weight smart wool sock. Not a single hot spot on my foot, and after a long day up and down, my feet looked totally normal at the end of the day. Finally!! At this elevation for a day, not trudging through snow my feet were perfectly warm. I would not suggest these boots for longer amounts of time at high elevation because they are light and not insulated enough for extreme cold temps. They are perfect for milder temperatures. I went up a half size in my Spantik boots, but I stuck with my normal size for this purchase (I am a women's size 9 and wear a 40.5) and it was perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Amazing Shoe! I struggled to find hiking boots that were comfortable, protective and functional. I tried these on and immediately fell in love! 2 weeks into my backpacking trip everyone had blisters except me! These shoes fit well and fit right! Even though they are more light mountaineering boots, you can take them backpacking and they work great. We did some unexpected bouldering on our trip and these boots were even awesome for that (compared to clunky leather boots or tennis shoes)! I love that these shoes are so versatile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from try it - lace up and go Light, waterproof, fit like a glove, wicks well [feet stay dry though wool socks are pretty damp at end of day], great foot, ankle and stance stability. No break in, just go. Got a pair for the spring mounds[have not used in winter.] So good, decided to use instead of my Latoks for hiking/packing. Suggest a superfeet, thicker lace and sock experiments for comfort backpacking. Bought pairs for spouse and daughters. With most Sportiva, go a half size (.5mm) larger than other European and best for low-medium volume foot. Wish it had a locking lace loop like the Nepal Extremes for solid bifurcated lacing - a trivial suggestion but not a complaint. Evo's ankle bend lace loop improves with thicke

La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

Please review La Sportiva's size conversion chart above to help determine your ideal size. Below you will find additional information about how to fit and break in the different styles of La Sportiva footwear, which will also help guide you to the correct size.

• As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.
• Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.
• Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

• PERFORMANCE FIT - offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.
• TECH FIT - a more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.
• COMFORT FIT - a comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.

• Find your US Size in the guide above, then find the Euro Size conversion and add one half size.
• The ideal size holds your toes ever so slightly away from the front of the boot while the lacing system is snug across the top of your arch.
• If you can try to boots on beforehand, make sure you wear the same size and weight socks you would typically wear with the boots, and any orthotics or custom footbeds you use.
• It is ideal to fit boots later in the day since feet are prone to swell slightly as a day progresses.
• Wear your boots indoors only until you are confident about the fit.
• Your foot should feel snug (not tight) from the arch back into the heel pocket with just a minimum lift as you walk. If your heel lifts make sure the lacing is snug and not too loose.
• Your toes should NOT touch the front of the boot, but when you kick the toe into the floor, you should know where the front of the boot is. You want just enough room to wiggle your toes.
• If your toes or sides of your feet feel squished, most likely the width is too narrow and the boot will not work for you.
• If your toes touch the front of the boot, most likely it is too short and you need the next half size up.
• Make sure to keep all original packaging that came with your boots until you are sure that you are happy with your purchase.
