Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

Gret foot feelI've had the shoes about a month. I did buy 1/2 size smaller than usual, but they have been great. Wearing them right out of the box has been very comfy. No rubs, lots of room and holds my foot well.

La Sportiva Spire GTX BootThese are the best, most comfortable hiking boots, hands down. I bought the high top version of these a year ago, loved them too. They are light weight and with sufficient cushion. The width is just right, not too wide and not too narrow for medium width feet. The price is good, for the quality and comfort that come with these boots.

Great shoe, just not for meI tried tieing this shoe so many different ways, tried thick and thin socks, tried different inserts but these just don't work for me. I think the wide is just not wide enough plus the shoe is a bit too big causing pain at my right big toe, left heel and pinky toes. In addition the sole is just too firm. If I could do it over, I would have bought my usual size 37, not 38 like the size guide suggested. The shoe has great grip (hiked on slippery scree) and good ventilation. The shoe laces actually stay tied (I've had other shoes with laces that come undone no matter how you tie them). Seems to be good quality; Despite hiking on sharp rocks, boulders and scree they still look like new.

I want to sleep in these!!These are by far the most comfortable hiking shoes I have owned! They run a bit large but I had read reviews and ordered a half size smaller, and they are a little roomy in the toe box and I love them! They are so sturdy and really keep me balanced on rocks. The gore-tex is great and really does keep them water-proof. (I have had other shoes which did not fulfill the waterproof promise.) I hike a lot (but not rock climbing) and these can take all kinds of terrain. I wore them today on a short hike to the beach and they were even great on the sand. They are light and I don't want to take them off. I took them on a trip to Vermont and there was no break-in time and I wore them everywhere, even in the snow. The neutral color is perfect and makes them so you can wear them with jeans any day. I actually purchased a second pair to keep for when my first pair is done, but they have been holding out great with lots and lots of miles. Thank you to La Sportiva for this awesome shoe!! Lives up to its very high reviews!I've had these less than a month, and have about a 150 miles on them. They are comfortable out of the box, with plenty of room in the toes. Both of my feet were shattered in an accident, and I find they are very supportive. My feet run very hot and sweaty, even in the winter. The ventilated sole, seems to do a good job keeping them cool. Initially, that was a major selling point for me. Well done! Much of the time I even skip a sock liner. Vibram soles seem just right. I really appreciate the tread pattern, as it has exactly the right grab for bouldering and hiking in sloppy, uneven conditions. Plenty of lateral stability. They are fast and light, but still rugged. They perform great in all conditions, and keep my feet dry. I live in rural Michigan, so trail conditions vary by the day. Very happy with my purchase.

Runs bigI bought Euro 39 for women in both the La Sportiva Spire GTX and the Trail Ridge Low. Whereas the Trail Ridge Low in Euro 39 women fit perfectly, the Spire GTX was too big...I would say half size too big. Bushido II trail running shoe I wear women's 39.5. So, La Sportiva's sizing is all over the place for some reason, which makes relying on the sizing chart, whether here or on La Sportiva, impossible and perplexing.

Comfortable and RoomyBought these for my wife on specific request to replace a previous pair. (By the way, I also have a pair of the men's version.) The key feature of these shoes that keeps us coming back is the considerable volume within the shoe that ensures your foot is not cramped. Too many shoes have the cramped toe-box, not these. Durable, waterproof and comfortable.

Best hiking shoes ever!This is my favorite pair of hiking shoes…its my second pair…best grip, best support, light, best overall….only wish they came in more colors!
Does this have great arch support? I have Very high arches and it’s always a problem finding shoes with enough arch support.

Does the Gortex restrict breathing and make feet too hot in warmer months? Which Sportiva best for 3 seasons of hiking?

Great question! Gore-Tex in general does allow for sweat and moisture to pass through, it just tends to be at a slower pace. With that said, the Spire GTX Boot features a "Gore-Tex- Surround" liner. Which means it is guaranteed to be waterproof, but it also offers all-around breathability - meaning hot air and moisture from sweat vapour can even escape through the sole. If you hadn't asked about the Spire boot specifically, it would have been my recommendation. You can also check out the La Sportiva Nucleo and Pyramid boots as comparable options. Both use Gore-Tex-Surround as well. I included links below. I hope this helps!

How good are these for scrambling/more technical terrain? I'm looking for comfortable hiking shoes that could also occasionally double as approach shoes (I'm more of a hiker than a climber).

Thanks for the question! While the Spire would work as an approach shoe for light scrambling, it doesn't have as much grip you would need for longer periods. In that case, I would consider the TX4 due to their grip and also if you plan to be on rocky terrain. I included a link to the TX4 below. I hope this helps!

NOTES La Sportiva shoes are built on European half sizes which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This creates four extra sizes per size run, which ultimately results in a better fit.
