Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favorite shoe I had heard many great things about the Miura's and was due for new climbing shoes, so I decided to give them a try. I LOVE them. They are surprisingly comfy for such an aggressive shoe, and they fit like a glove. I find myself trusting my feet way more in these than my previous shoe (Scarpa Vapor V's) and they have made me a more confident climber outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Edgy I just got these and I already feel a lot more confident about my footing. Haven't taken them outside yet, but I'm excited to when the weather gets nicer. They are my first pair of aggressive shoes and I would recommend them to anyone making the transition from beginner shoes to something that performs better on harder routes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Shoe for Intermediate to Advanced Climbers I love my Miuras and can't seem to find another pair of shoes that fit me as well as these guys do. I went from La Sportiva Oxygym's to the Miura VS and have not looked back since. Great downturn for those higher grade climbs with small foot chips. I trust them on everything from gym climbing to outdoor slabby routes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from good short-term shoes.....but that's it I bought these shoes just under eight months ago in the fall. It took about two months to fully break them in. They are currently trashed. After the break-in period, I enjoyed crushing some routes that involved smearing, tiny pockets, and slab. I felt more confident in my footwork. But the shoes began falling apart within the first five months. Visible wear on the straps with eventual pieces of strap breaking off, signs of wear on the buckles, stretching around the ankles, and the toes are completely blown out. I have also developed large callouses/corns on my big toes from wearing these shoes. These are the sixth pairs of shoes I've owned.....and they have had the shortest lifespan. In the end, I would say these shoes are definitely not worth the price. I was expecting more. It's disappointing because they are super fun to climb in, but their short-term lifespan is just silly. I'm not sure it's even worth it to resole them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect We bought these for my daughter over Thanksgiving and she loves them. She's been able to complete some difficult climbs that she was not able to with the shoes she had. With any climbing shoe - make sure you get the right fit - these must fit really snug.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Aggressive yet very precise shoe I bought these shoes a few weeks ago and have climbed in them four days now - one outside, and three inside. They are more aggressive than I realized, but they definitely help with precise toe placement. They hurt a bit, but I'm hoping it's due to not having climbed in them very many days yet. I've only heard good things from others who have them.

In comparison to other less stiff climbing shoes such as the lace up Muiras (without p3 platform), how well do the Muiras VS smear? Does the stiffer sole inhibit smearing to a certain degree or does the shoe become more effective as it is broken in?

Asked by: Maryjones23
Even though they have the same name, the Regular and VS Miura's are actually quite different. The VS has noticeably more down-turn, climbs, and an aggressive fit. They will offer plenty of flex for smearing, while still maintaining lateral support for edging. Yes, the stiff sole will be difficult - to a degree. But that will be a valuable feature when you want to overcome those tiny pockets. This shoe will take some time to get broken in, but the performance should remain consistent. If you are looking for a specialized shoe for aggressive climbing, then I would take a look at the La Sportiva Women's Solutions. You can check them out below. Hope this helps!

La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.

La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.

La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.

Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.

Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

PERFORMANCE FIT - Offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.

TECH FIT - A more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.

COMFORT FIT - A comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.
