I am not impressed with them they are not comfortable and if you do hike with em every sticker on the trail will imbed into this shoe. This is my third pair of keens and I will not be spending my money with them anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice boots Pretty much only wear keen boots for work. Have worn the Durand for years but in the summer they are a little warm. First pair of these tore the sole in a matter of days, sent them back and they sent me new ones that are holding up fine. They are much lighter and cooler for the summer months. Only other thing is the laces don’t stay tied due to the material and always need double tied which is not a big deal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This boot is not comfortable like the recently discontinued NXIS Speed Mid in all black. That boot was the definitive boot for law enforcement and was very comfortable. Keen discontinued the all black color which prompted me to try the waterproof version as they look fairly identical. However, the EVO waterproof runs much smaller and narrower and is not comfortable like the non-waterproof version was. I hope they bring back the EVO Speed Mid in all black sooner than later.

The next evolution of Keen boots - a huge upgrade from the Keen Targhee. Well done. Really love the design aesthetic and comfy sole and fit that Keen is known for. Thoughtful enginnering and design all around. Pricey but a great value.

Feet stay dry from sweat, even if the weather switches over to rain or snow & if I happen to step into any water, feet stay dry throuhout the day. When I'm hitting my stride towards the end of day they're completely comfortable until they come off my feet. I definitely would recommend these boots. I been wearing Keens now for over 15 years I will never purchase any other brand of boot to protect my feet thur the elements of everyday living.

Down side is the sole is soft and doesn’t have any foot bed protection against rocks and debris on the trail. Cushioning is great but you sacrifice protection.

If the shoe goes in deeper water does it self-drain, dry while worn?

Hey there, thanks for your question. The KEEN Men's Nxis Evo Mid Waterproof Shoe does not have any special drainage system to shed excess water. The waterproof breathable membrane will allow water to evaporate out of the shoe, allowing it to dry over time. I hope this helps!
