I have a lumbar discomfort of accident I had and I knew if I wanted to continue running this tennis shoes nailed it. The one that concerns me is I'm a 9.5 and bought a 10, I don't know if by breaking them caused a slip like when I do planks. Needless to say, I feel a little play in front of shoe.

Carbon plating is often for us older runners who have destroyed our feet over the miles- so room is needed in the toe box for bunions and hammer toes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mountain Goat from A Complete Miss on the Upper I have ran in several models of Hoka (Tracer, Clifton, Rincon, Mach, Carbon X and Speedgoat) and the Carbon X3 is the only model I would ever consider giving a negative review. Under the foot is outstanding, as usual, and the only reason this is not a 1-star review. However, the sock-style upper is a complete miss. Without a tongue, the upper folds over on itself, creating pressure points on top of the foot. Also, with this upper, there is no way to adjust lacing to get a good heel lock. These issues make the shoe fit like a pair of baggy jeans. Like another reviewer said, I'm buying up Carbon X2 models to (hopefully) get me to the X4 model with the hope that they move away from the sock-style upper.

They retain the great features of the previous two Carbon X, they are super light and fast. Also these are the most comfortable so far.

If you are unsure which shoe size to purchase, please follow the below steps:

1. Trace the outline of each foot on a piece of paper.

2. In a straight line from the middle of the heel to the longest toe, measure the length of each foot.

3.If one foot is longer than the other, take the larger measurement and compare to the chart. Foot length will determine your shoe size - round up or down to the closest size within 2mm.
