Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. Make sure to check us out on our social channels for other ways to win some extra MJ$!
MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

A Comparison to MicrospikesI recently bought my second pair of Hillsound spikes. In my experience (hiking in snow and ice in the Colorado Rockies) they are equal to, or slightly better than Microspikes (considering the supplied security strap). Since they cost less, I opt for the Hillsound.
Configuration difference from Microspikes:
• Hillsound has chosen to use a one-piece spike unit in front, with 4 spikes, and a hinged (but essentially one-unit) 7-spike unit in back. (11 spikes total).
• Microspikes use a linked set of six 2-spike units (12 spikes total).
In practice, I've found no difference in utility between the two configurations.
With both, the weak aspect is the same as the convenient: The stretchy rubber can be torn, and cannot be fixed. This rubber provides a very secure attachment to the boot, though it is the fragile part. I have cut the rubber on rock (rendering me with one sure foot), and now always carry the spare in the bottom of my pack in winter.
The rubber, when worn (and sized) correctly, rides above the ground level and should be only subject to tearing when exposed to side rock--caution should be used in variable conditions where this could happen.
Pros:
• Easy to put on and remove, even in cold weather
• Good spike configuration functions well on packed snow or ice
• They come in red (as well as the previous black only), making them easier to find in a pack
• Once on, they stay securely in place
• For more extreme conditions, they come with a removable velcro top strap which, when used, makes them far harder to lose if pulled off a boot)
• Perhaps a slightly more robust chain configuration than Microspikes.
Cons:
• Wet snow (spring conditions where I live) tends to ball up, clinging to the spikes. But this is also the case with Microspikes. Snow balls can be kicked off onto dead wood.

Great qualityI bought these crampons after buying two pairs of no name ones and having them break first or second use. These ones are a whole different story. I have done a few hikes now with rocky and icy terrain and no problems here. Win in my book.

No more slipping and sliding!I have used these twice and walked on wet snow and across frozen streams and ponds and not once did I ever slip. They stay in place and do exactly as described.

Bite Right into Packed Snow and IceI love these Trail Crampons. They have longer more aggressive spikes for steep slopes and trails where microspikes just aren't enough. They also come in a handy flexible Kevlar material case.

Great MicrospikesI've always used Kahtoola spikes for hiking on icy trails. I changed winter boots and needed a larger size. I borrowed a friend's Hillsound spikes and I was sold. The spikes are more aggressive, they fit well, have a velcro strap (not that they would fall off) and come with a handy bag for storage. I ordered them and they came within a few days. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend for trails on icy conditions.

AmazingI've never felt like I did while using these crampons. I felt literally glued to the ice. I would recommend wholeheartedly to anyone that will be hiking or walking through heavy ice.

I almost died!!Went hiking up Mt LeConte on Thanksgiving weekend. It had rained 2 days before and there were serious ice patches. My wife and I had to slightly off trail in some areas to get footing. Then we saw two guys that we’re almost running down the mountain. With inspection they had the trail crampons. We finished the round trip hike gripping the ropes as we slipped and slid. After we got home I ordered some. I am ready for the next trek.
Please list the Hillsound trail crampon size vs boot size. (It may be in the video; However, the video is not working.)

Hey, there! So sorry about that. I will get that crampon size chart added ASAP! In the mean time. The size to boot guide is below. I hope this helps for now :)

It looks like you don't carry the Size L Trail Crampon. I'm in a Oboz Bridger 10.5. This should put me in a L. Are the Mediums big enough to stretch to 10.5 or are you getting the Large size in after the holidays?
Asked by: Dave
Hi Dave, thanks for the question! The medium should be just fine to slip over your 10.5 Oboz, I hope this helps!

What size for a La Sportiva size 44 Nepal Cube ice climbing boot? L or XL?
Asked by: Mike Trad
Hey Mike Trad, thanks for the question! The Nepal Cube Mountaineering boots are actually designed to be used with newmatic or semi-automatic crampons, I'll leave a few links for you to check those out below if you want. If you really do want to use these Hillsound Trail Crampons, you will need a Large for these boots. I hope this helps!

Will a medium fit a men’s 8.5 snowboard boot?

Hey there, thanks for your question.
Unfortunately Hillsound does not recommend these for use with snowboard boots. I would recommend just a regular strapon style crampon for most snowboard boots.
I hope this helps!

What size of Hillsound trail crampon should I order to fit a size 10 work boot?
Asked by: Patrick
Thanks for the question! These crampons do run large, as they are meant to go over boots. Since you are on the edge of Medium & Large, I would suggest going with the Medium because you will want them snug. Hope this helps!

I wear a size 6 hiking boot. Will the small fit correctly?
Asked by: Pg518
Hi Pg518, thanks for the question! A small would work fine for a Men's size 6 hiking boot and I don't really think you would have too much of a problem using the small on a Women's size 6. It may be a touch large, but it will by no means be in danger of slipping off your boot. I hope this helps!
