Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would definitely buy this pack! I really like this pack. To start with, it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, and it has really clean lines. I like being able to access the gear either through the top or front, although I almost never use the front. The pockets on the outside are brilliant: two zippered pockets on the top flap that face UP, and not backwards, so that when you open them to grab something you've stuffed in there, everything doesn't come falling out. The two front pockets are long and perfect for things that you might want to get to easily, like water filter, or toilet paper, maps, etc. I like the water bottle/snack pocket on the side that faces forward so you can actually take a water bottle in and out easily. There are zippered pockets on the hip belts, which I love for things like lip balm, sunscreen, energy bar, etc. The pack holds a ton. I work as a guide and I need to carry a lot. I carry a major first aid, sat phone, extra supplies, maps, teaching tools, even an iPad to teach with. It all fits and the pack is still really comfortable to carry. My hip bones ALWAYS hurt for the first couple days with all my other packs. I just got off a 10 day trip in the Grand Canyon and they didn't hurt at all. Now, this is not the pack for people who are going ultra-light. It starts a bit heavy, but I don't mind that since that allows it to carry what you need to carry and still be comfortable. It compresses down pretty well if not full. I really have no complaints that would stop me from buying this pack. I weigh 145 pounds and I carried 60 pounds in the pack (yes, I know that's stupid) on this last trip and I was fine with it. Great pack!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sadly disappointed I bought this pack because my brother had the older but heavier model and he loved it. He also updated his pack with this lighter one. Liked the idea and mechanics of the pack however it quickly became apparent that it wasn't going to work for either of us. There is very little padding on the hip belt and before long our hip bones were being rubbed raw with only 35-40# packed. For reference we are both average size people and experienced hikers. We were on the JMT at the time and had no choice but to use them. I ended up using my winter gloves doubled up under the hipbelt and my waist wrapped with an ace wrap to make it tolerable. If they added more padding to the hipbelt I would happily order the pack again. I understand the whole minimalist lightweight trend but don't feel as if one should be miserable while carrying a pack. Even after 3 weeks on the trail our skin never toughened up under the hipbelt. Ended up returning.

- + Size Guide

Gregory Women's Packs

Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.

The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.

1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
