Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great capacity for overnights Wonderful pack overall. Could be a little lighter (no U zipper, removable lid), bottom side compression straps should be under mesh pockets, and I wish the side mesh pockets were a little shorter though. Just finished up a nice overnight with it and had more than enough capacity. Lumbar pad had a tendency to slide around a bit but could of just been the combo of its material and material of my clothes. Ventilated back felt wonderful and kept me as cool as possible on a sunny and humid 90 degree day. Front stretch pocket was perfect for a map, butt pad, and filtration system. I'd gladly purchase another zulu pack, just not a larger one due to its heavier weight for long sections and thru hikes. Best part about Gregory packs? They're already marked with my name.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack! Just used my pack for the first time, on a day hike. The lumbar support/hip belt were comfortable and did a good job of distributing the weight of the pack onto the hips. What I liked best was how effectively air circulated between my back and the main compartment. It was a hot day and a fellow hiker ended the hike with the back of his shirt damp with unevaporated sweat -- but my back stayed cool and dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a pack that fits!!! I live in the mountains in Southern California and hike regularly. I've have become a great fan of Gregory gear because of the fit and quality. I'm tall with a long torso 23+in. The only place that remembers not all men are 5'10"/165, I'm 6'3"/285.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Day to Multi Day Hikes It's a great bag fits everything for my 10+ mile day hikes. I do have a Gregory 55L for backpacking but this is good for a 1 to multiple day hikes (without camping) So far hiked Bernardino Peak and Gorgonio with it, worked great. Will be doing Whitney in July

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drop off the key, Lee and set yourself free you wanna get outdoors, then this is one helluva day bag: after throwing in the 10 essentials, there still is plenty of room for more first aid, food, water, back pack stove, and layers ready to "bring on" the cold and the stars. No cramming and no squishing. The bag's support sweetly balances the load. For grins, took twenty five pounds up a 11,000 ft summit. Felt the weight only when putting on or taking off Gzulu 35, but never on my back or shoulders while hiking. Gzulu35 works handsomely and get more handsome with dirt and sweat.

What in the heck does this mean? Taken from features: Multi Straps- removable via girth hitch, adjustable straps that can be positioned at multiple lash points on the exterior of the pack for carrying a sleeping pad, outerwear, camp shoes, etc.

Asked by: skates the rings saturn
Hiya, thanks for your question! There are multiple straps on the outside of the pack that you can use to attach things that don't fit in the pack, like a sleeping pad. The girth hitch (knot) is removable. Hope this helps!

- + Size Guide

Gregory Men's Packs

Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.

The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.

HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE
1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
