FEATURES of the Gregory Men's Baltoro 65L Pack

  • Response A3 suspension: Auto angle adjust (A3) hipbelts and shoulder harnesses adapt to your unique body geometry for a custom fit every time you shoulder the pack
  • Patented system allows both harnesses and both hipbelts to rotate independently of each other, delivering a dynamic yet stable ride that adapts to your body's movements over different terrain
  • Response A3 helps align your center of gravity over your walking path, saving energy you'd otherwise spend on stabilization
  • That little bit of energy saved adds up with every step, increasing your overall efficiency-and preserving your bliss-as the miles tick by
  • 3D AIR hipbelts and shoulder harnesses: Precurve technology and multi-density lifespan EVA foam construction combine to eliminate hotspots and relieve pressure in sensitive areas
  • 3D AIR mesh wicks away moisture and distributes it throughout the woven surface, increasing overall comfort and allowing the hipbelts and shoulder harnesses to dry quickly during a well-earned trail break
  • Wishbone frame: A high-strength tubular aluminum frame defines the perimeter of the back panel, channeling the weight of the pack to the center of your lower back and around your hip structure
  • Design allows your upper body and hips to flex naturally while minimizing side-to-side sway as you hike, saving energy and keeping you more comfortable over longer distances
  • The frame also features anti-barreling support to prevent the pack from losing its shape and keeps the load close to your center of gravity
  • Matrix ventilated backpanel: Ventilated structural foam wrapped in breathable mesh provides enhanced moisture management in a low-profile backpanel design
  • It offers excellent airflow while keeping the pack very close to your back for crucial energy savings while carrying heavier loads
  • Comfortgrip: A soft-molded contoured pad ensures the weight of the pack transfers comfortably to your lower back and hips
  • Silicone grip overlays prevent the pad from slipping, keeping the hipbelt in position on your body's main load-bearing structure
  • Full body U-Zip main opening on front of bag for easy unloading when you get to camp
  • Custom fitted raincover included-stows in a quick access zippered pocket on underside of the top lid
  • Removable hydration sleeve converts into fast and light sidekick daypack with shoulder harnesses and accessory pocket
  • H20 Resistant weathershield hip belt pocket with YKK aquaguard zipper for quick access to you phone or camera
  • Sunglass quickstow system on shoulder harness for quick, secure and scratch-free access to your shades without taking the pack off
  • Sidewinder bottle holster for one-handed on-the-go water bottle access-tucks away when not in use
  • Stretch mesh side stash pocket large enough for a second water bottle, trekking poles, sandals, snacks, etc
  • Dual front zippered organization pockets with heavy duty stretch mesh stash pocket
  • Double barrel top lid design with dual zippered pockets and a flexible center divider for larger items
  • Zippered bottom sleeping bag compartment with removable divider

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality and tons of features I received this only a week ago and have already hiked 50+ miles, with 40+ lbs. in it. It took the load very well and was surprisingly comfortable, on the long and steep terrain. There are tons of adjustments that can be made to fit your body just right, and the outside pockets are symmetrical and when filled can help balance the load as well. The features I like best are the zipper front pouch to allow access to the main compartment of the rucksack, without having to dig into your pack for items on the bottom. The other is the removable water bladder holder that once removed can be used as a daypack/hydration pack. This pack has many other features that you don't normally see on other brands packs. I can tell with the high quality make and materials that pack will last me many years, and will be a great companion on many adventures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well made and stylish pack I have been trying to get into backpacking for the past ten years, but haven't been able due to injury and other situations. I have slowly been growing my gear and moving more towards lighter; backpacking friendly gear. This pack fits the bill all around. I have always had cheaper packs in the past and I had no idea how much a quality product makes a difference. I have already hiked 50+ miles with 40+ lbs. in the pack and this thing is perfect for the heavy loads. I love all the adjustments that can be made on the fly, to make sure the pack fits just right. I also like the front zipper access to the interior of the main compartment. Makes it easier to get to items when in a hurry. Another feature I like is the removable water bladder holder, that turns into a daypack/hydration pack when removed. This pack has it all and with it's quality make and materials, I know it will last me for years to come. Great pack and worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Comfortable Pack For Bigger Framed Guy Love this pack for hiking and longer treks... Its a little large for day hikes, but I'm a big guy and carry a lot of camera gear in an ICU in this pack so it's a great pack for my needs.. the straps are super comfortable and it rides and distributes weight very nicely

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect ergonomic pack! The pack can carry anything you want while staying close to your back and moving with your movements. The Gregory Bartolo gets my nod over the Ospreys!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection Excellent pack! Owned older version used for over 3 years! Very durable and handed it to my fellow friend as he wants to join backpacking. I bought this pack to continue legacy of baltoro and love it more than older version! Brand that you can trust!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great pack - bring on long spring weekends!! I have been carrying heavy packs for more than 35 years (yes, THAT just dated me!), and I can easily say that this is one of the most comfortable, and more importantly for me, well ventilated, packs I have ever owned. I have had numerous packs from another manufacturer, and this Baltoro is beaks and wings above anything I have ever had from that other brand. The fit is great (I am just over 6-feet tall, average proportions, and 190lbs), and the reach of the straps and adjustability of the suspension hits the bill right out of the box. I love the generous places to clip extraneous things to, maximizing the internal space for other packables. I spent 10 years in mountain rescue, and with the versatility, fit, and relative light weight, this would have been a great strike back for overnights when carrying lots of necessary gear. If there is one hesitation, it is that the lightweight nature may result in a tear if you are careless - I got a small snag climbing through some downed logs - caught a sharp branch in just the right place. But if you are remotely careful (I tend to be hard on gear (see, rescue mindset)) and probably could be a bit more mindful, but literally that is my only concern.

Gregory Men's Packs

Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.

The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.

1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
