Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.

"Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).

On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. The most comfortable pack I’ve ownedI absolutely love this pack. After years of ultralight packs not quite cutting it in the comfort department, I decided to try something different. This was a whole new world. It’s so so comfortable, with all the nifty features that make a big difference; the sunglasses loop&sinch, the easily reachable botttle pocket, the front and bottom access to the main compartment, ample space in the hip pockets. There’s nothing I don’t like about it. It’s the rolls Royce of packs. The added weight is worth the comfort. I took it on a 12-day hike with with a considerable load and was never sore. Not a sore shoulder or hip. It moves with my body perfectly. High five to this pack!

Good heavy hauler, but there are better options for long hikesI used the 2021 model Baltoro for all of my backpacking trips last year. I logged a few hundred miles with it. I took my children on a few trips and had to carry a lot of extra gear. The Baltoro excels at carrying loads over 40lbs comfortably. It’s a sturdy pack made with thick robic nylon. The shoulder straps, hip belt, and suspension are all padded nicely. However, there are a few areas that could be improved on.
1) One of the biggest complaints I had with the model I own is with the hip belts. They are too small! The only cell phone I was able to fit in the hip belt pocket was an IPhone 12 mini. Gregory rectified this issue when they introduced the new model. The 2022 model has larger hip belt pockets.
2) The Baltoro is a heavy pack. It weighs nearly 5lbs. This isn’t a huge deal for someone who’s only hiking a few miles to a campsite to spend a few days in the woods. It’s also a non issue for those who pack in a lot of heavy gear. However, for those who intend to thru hike, or section hike longer trails, a lighter pack is a better option. I found myself swapping to a lighter pack when I began hiking longer trails such as the Foothills, and Bartram trails.
3) I initially liked the idea of having so many pockets to organize my gear. I also thought the U shaped zipper back panel was a great feature. However, once I got on trail with it, I realized a lot of those extra bells and whistles are unnecessary and only add weight. There just really isn’t any need for all of the zippered access to the main compartment. If a bag is packed properly, the items most used will be on top. I never used the sleeping bag compartment zipper, or panel zipper once on trail as I used a pack liner in leu of the pack cover. I did use the two zippered side pockets, but I could have just as easily stored the items in the main compartment, or in the mesh front pocket.
4) the sidewinder water bottle pocket isn’t the best design IMO. Although it is well placed to easily grab a water bottle without taking the pack off, it isn’t deep enough to prevent smart water bottles from falling out when you bend down. It does well with Nalgene bottles, but very few hikers use Nalgenes on the trail anymore. At least that’s been my experience.
5) pack material. Gregory chose not to supply a pack cover with their newer Baltoro. Honestly, after learning the trail hack of using a trash compactor bag as a pack liner, I don’t see much of a need for a pack cover. Using a liner gives the backpacker more flexibility to store gear in the external pockets without trying to figure out how to get the pack cover over it when the rain starts. However, the nylon fabric does eventually absorb water when rained on, and a heavy pack gets even heavier. I have to wonder when Gregory will swap to one of the newer fabrics such as Xpac. It’s lighter, stronger, and more water resistant than nylon. A more water resistant Baltoro in the 3lb weight range would be a very popular pack.
All in all the Baltoro is a good pack for those who want to take shorter weekend trips, and want something that can handle 50lb loads comfortably. As for me, I did stay with Gregory, but I swapped to a Focal 58 for my backpacking adventures. I dropped over 2lbs in weight by making the switch. The Focal has almost everything I want in a pack. If only it was made with DCF or Xpac fabric…

Greatest Backpack I've Ever OwnedI've been backpacking for years and have struggled to find a pack that balances comfort with weight and functionality until I tried on this Gregory. My Gregory has accompanied me on many adventures across the Sierra Nevada, Sawtooth's, and Central Cascades. The pack itself is expertly designed with a multitude of pockets that have proven useful from carrying food to my ice axe. I look forward to many more adventures knowing my Gregory is perfect!

It looks great, we just haven't packed yetThe Gregory Brand has consistently manufactured quality products that last a lifetime. Although heavier than the "ultra lights" out there, the Baltoro 65 is a perfect three to four back country back pack.

Amazing backspacing solutionHave used this bag for multiple backpacking trips, including the high sierra trail and backpacking Glacier National park. Different wether conditions including snow, rain, and dry weather. The pack is extremely comfortable, great suspension system, with room to fit gear, food, and ample camera equipment. I’d recommend this bag to anyone.

Size Guide
Gregory Men's Packs
Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.
The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.
HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE 1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.
2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.
3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
